The 'women like bad boys or jerks' is a strawman - it's mostly repeated by men who consistently don't do well in attracting women and sexually exciting them.

I agree with that statement to a point. Not all women like "bad boys" (I'm proof of that), but there are a lot of women who do. These women will put up with all kinds of bad treatment from their loser men "because I love him." That's what I don't get. It seems to me they would want someone who treats them better.

I take a lot of heat (from both sexes) when I mention how easy it is for a man to have a lovely female companion. Now more than ever it is easier to get sex and companionship from attractive women.

I do admit that it is harder (for both sexes) to find a keeper.

But a guy with any brains should have no problem finding a palatable woman. Indeed, chronic failure with women is evidence of no brains, when you come to think of it.

IMO, a man who is really smart will instinctively understand that women will not be attracted to a man who subscribes to a free newsletter on how to attract women.

When I saw the title, I thought this might just be a thread with useful information for a highly intelligent guy like me.

Turns out, it is an article about how a smart guy can act dumb enough to have dating success with women that are dumb enough to want to only date dumb guys.

I learned how to act that dumb when I was in my 20's.

What I really need is an article that has useful information on how highly intelligent guys can find women smart enough not to be attracted to dumb guys, but not so smart that they play dumb hoping to find intelligent guys pretending to be dumb based on reading this article.

The author seems like a bitter loser.

I have a high IQ and did well for myself. If there was a woman I didn't date it was because I didn't want to. Most were just too stupid or boring. I married an intelligent woman who was neither stupid or boring. I also married later in life, also by choice, not by failure.

Shut the F&%K up! Stop talking. Let her talk and keep your mouth shut until she invites you to say something. Say it quick, make sure whatever you say is about her; preferably a question about her, then shut up again until the next time she stops talking long enough for you to say something else about her. Do not talk about yourself at all. It is not about you. Do this, and you cannot fail with women. And pick up the check, you loser.

I've also noticed that this works. To expand a little: be interested in her. Do not try to be interesting, be interestED.

And try to pick one that you CAN be genuinely interested in. The sex will NOT be worth it if you have to sit thru verbal diarrhea for hours.

No matter. Usually, women will pick the best physical specimens to have offspring with; it's only logical. Barring that, she may choose a rich man to compensate. Or some combination. Lonely, poor and unattractive geniuses go begging.

I think part of the problem with such women is that they are convinced that they don't have, and never had, real choices in their life. If such a woman were to enter into a situation where she could make her own choices, that would force her to take responsibility for her life--present and past. Some of these women have too much baggage to take on such a load by themselves.

The worst part of it is that he doesn't seem to realize that it's his own behavior that causing his problems. According to him, it's always someone else's fault.

I agree with you. This topic comes up from time to time on FR and my observations are well known (if a bit controversial).

In a nutshell, I think that 'nice men' make themselves nice by shedding themselves of their sexual instinct. They figure (wrongly) that by not being an overtly sexual animal, the woman they pine for will get sexually excited by this (abnormal?) restraint and reward them with their sexual affection.

So 'the plan' is to not present themselves as a sexual being and that this will somehow prompt a sexual response from the woman they admire. It's a dumb plan and almost never works. The woman invariably will find no sexual spark in a male like this and reject him - men like that are just not sexually exciting.

Jerks, on the other hand, are unambiguously masculine. Women who fall for this mistake the exaggerated masculine traits of the jerk for genuine healthy masculine traits. These men get rewarded by sexual attention, though it often leads to heartache.

The solution isn't hard - be neither 'nice' nor a 'jerk.' The choice isn't between one or the other. I tell men to be a 'good guy,' not a 'nice guy.' Keep your sexual instinct and identity - don't make your sexual responses a secret, but don't overstate it by being rude, overbearing, or notably jerky.

That's the lesson I learned in my 20's. It works to this day. However, it limits you to shallow narcissistic emotional vampires.
