God So Loved the World
16 ¶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Mark 16
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
Mark 16
The Disciples Commissioned
14Afterward (Q)He appeared (R)to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at the table; and He reproached them for their (S)unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen.
15And He said to them, "(T)Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.
16"(U)He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.
17"These signs will accompany those who have believed: (V)in My name they will cast out demons, they will (W)speak with new tongues;
18they will (X)pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will (Y)lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."
19So then, when the Lord Jesus had (Z)spoken to them, He (AA)was received up into heaven and (AB)sat down at the right hand of God.
20And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the word by the signs that followed.] [[b]And they promptly reported all these instructions to Peter and his companions. And after that, Jesus Himself sent out through them from east to west the sacred and imperishable proclamation of eternal salvation.]

Is the whole country following the events in the Vatican, and is it mostly the elderly or middle aged or are the younger people interested?
Were you around when he was appointed as Pope?
Thank you for answering anything you feel like answering Lukasz. Just wondered about Poland's perspective right now.
It's very sad here too.

Mark 8.27-30
Peter's Confession
13 ¶ When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesare'a Phil'ippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I, the Son of man, am?
14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist; some, Eli'jah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets. Mt. 14.1, 2 · Mk. 6.14, 15 · Lk. 9.7, 8
15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. Joh. 6.68, 69
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Mt. 18.18 · Joh. 20.23
20 Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.

I think that yes, no matter for age. Pope in every poll was chose definitely as the greatest Pole in history.
Were you around when he was appointed as Pope?
I was born in 1981, he was appointed in 1978.

That's heartwarming to hear Lukasz. Pope John Paul II is beloved worldwide, and of course, he would be beloved by his home country.

April 2, 2005 7:25 a.m. PST Update
From Rome CBS Radio News: (rough transcription of update)
The Vatican has been transparent in allowing news media access to information about Pope John Paul II. Pope John Paul II is responsible for the change in how the Vatican views the media.
At this time, Pope John Paul II's condition is unchanged.
His heart and kidneys are failing. The Vatican said that this does not suggest that he is suffering.
He has a compromised state of consciousness, yet he is not in a comatose state.
He drifts in and out of consciousness. One Vatican source said that it appeared that the Pope is resting with his eyes shut.
Pope John Paul II has responded by opening his eyes when spoken to. He has also tried to speak in the past few hours.
An Aide assisted Pope John Paul II in writing a message to his beloved staff gathered in the Papal apartment. The Pope asked them not to be sad for him.

As with Reagan, the Pope is one of the people I grew up with when the Evil Empire was around....
He will be missed when he goes. He is a fighter as the Commies and Nazis have found out the hard way....

Transcript of Special Report Live from CBS News at the Vatican
April 2, 2005 9:55 a.m. PST
Vatican Medical Update
A very brief printed statement from the Vatican reports that Pope John Paul II remains in very serious condition.
He developed a high fever this morning yet still has his faculties. He responds correctly when a member of his household speaks to him.
Dying comes slowly but he is in an irreversible condition.
Reporter's comments: He is made of tough stuff. Everyone comments how serene he is, he is not afraid.
A doctor who is an infectious disease consultant says it is hard to predict, this could go on for many hours.
Outside the Vatican in St. Petersburg Square there are tens of thousands of people singing and cheering for the Holy Father.
Los Angeles Catholic Churches are having open vigils all day today. In Chicago, 900,000 people of Polish descent share a special bond with Pope John Paul II.
In Poland, the home country for the Holy Father there are continuing prayer vigils.
Poles feel a deeply personal connection to the Pope. Some knew him as a young priest when he was an active outdoorsman, ski companion. Others recall when he gave lectures on metaphysics.
