Terri will probably die tomorrow (Good Friday).

Frankly, if this goes on after noon tomorrow, I will begin to think it more humane to let her go than bring her body through the trauma of recovery.
But, Jeb can act tonight one minute after midnight and not have to go to court until Monday.

Well .. I'm going to reserve judgement until all the legal maneuvers are over. The Bush people are not known for charging in by breaking laws.
We are not like the Janet Reno's of this world who abuse their power. I do not believe Jeb wants to risk breaking the law.
But .. it appears the law is on his side so I'm confused as to why he's waiting to act.
And .. this would be an opportunity for the DCF to redeem itself after making so many poor decisions regarding children.
And .. where are all the do-gooder social workers who are always ready to interfere with parents' rights. These are the people who take endangered children all the time on flimsy information - such as "suspicion of mistreatment" - there is no SUSPICION HERE?? when there is nursing staff who say the husband has repeatedly abused her - which Judge Greer HAS REFUSED TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT.
As far as I'm concerned - the social workers' silence is defening. Time for DCF to do the right thing for this innocent woman.

You are really losing faith when you turn against the leaders who are basically on your own side. That is lousy. Some of you are sometimes, I think, more interested in winning than seeing justice done.
Here is what I would do as governor: Declare Terri's room a crime scene, send in police, surround it with those yellow tapes, start reviving Terri as part of the evidence (of her husband's attempt to kill her a few years ago, and possibly at the time of the original injury). Then build a case against Michael, and eventually offer to plea-bargain with him: the state will not prosecute if he relinquishes custody and grants Terri a divorce. Case settled, life saved.
All these desperation appeals in the courts are futile, and just set precidents which will be damaging to your cause in future cases. The cause is life, and in this case, justice (for it is very possible that a crime was committed, and possibly more than once).
Where are all these people who expect stem-cell research to bring miracle cures? Well, we keep this woman alive awaiting the results of stem-cell research to repair her damaged brain. We don't have to prove that she will ever get better with conventional therapy.
If the worst happens, it will not be because good people did nothing. It will be because the courts could not see right, and are supported apparently by a majority in the country. I will feel more sorry for the country then, than for Terri. But DO NOT turn against your friends because they are not supermen. Remember who the real enemy is.

You two ought to be ashamed of yourselves then. There's nothing more legally that can be done to save this woman's life. Any move to take this woman into custody is outside the scope of the authority of the executive branch. Hence, Jeb Bush has as much authority to go into that hospice to re-insert the feeding tube as you two do.

These are not being enforced thus the judge is not acting within his powers. Dont forget DreadScott decision when Courts also said that blacks weren't human - Im glad Lincoln didnt comply.
And Greer ruled that he didn't. Those briefs weren't worth the paper they were printed on.

The Declaration of Independence has no force of law. It is not a basis for constitutional action by the governor of Florida. However, the language you cite contains important natural law concepts. If you are going to argue these as a basis for action, then you have as much right and obligation to enter the hospice and re-insert the feeding tube as Jeb Bush does.

These issues have all been litigated throughout the court system. The Schindlers lost. Re-liitgating the case as a basis for executive action is a non-sequitur.
Like I said, until you go to Florida and are arrested for re-inserting the feeding tube, you have no basis to take cheap shots at Jeb Bush.

I had an epiphany on this case.
What if these Florida judges are acting the way they are acting because of the slap in the face they took during the 2000 Presidential Elections?
Were you aware that Judge Greer's wife is on the board of directors at the Hospice - the same Hospice where Terri is ..??
HOW IN HELL DID THIS JUDGE GET CONTROL OVER THIS CASE - THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!!
Let us not forget that these courts are unconstitutional. Dare you disagree? Also, eventhough that I agree that I have the power to enter the hospice I could not, Jeb Bush however could enter the hospice. Do you agree that Lincoln did the right thing in suspending the constitution to free the slaves? No one person had the power that the pres. Lincoln did in declaring war - if a citizen at that time would have tried to free a slave in a confederate state he would of been arrested. But history shows that Lincoln did the right thing by enforcing the natural law concepts of the Dec. Of Ind. Who would cite against him today, eventhough many did at the time.
