This is one of those scientific experimental areas you have to keep a weather eye on. Because if they crack the cold fusion nut...it just changes everything... Big Time.
And if they invent a perpetual motion machine, well, the sky is the limit. "But in our house we follow the rules of thermo-dynamics!"

Someday we must come to grips with the fact that today the National Laboratories in which the Department of Energy (and now the Department of Homeland Security) place their confidence are no more than government contractors cloaked in the respectability and the reputation of those who developed nuclear weapons some 60 years ago.

In any event, if cold fusion requires platinium, there would only be enough platinum to replace 2 or 3 power plants. The total platinum in the world would not fill an average sized living room. It's too bad KISS used it all for an album cover.

The total platinum in the world would not fill an average sized living room. The world's yearly output in 1995 was equal to a cube 154 inches on a side.
