Pinging you to a thread that brings back some truly terrible tunes.
Sam Kinison:
"You lying whore!
You used me.
You never loved me!
I hope you slide under a truck and taste your own blood.
You f***ing b!tch!
Die! Die! Die!"
Thank You by Led Zeppelin
And don't forget "Paradise by the dashboard lights". Classic.
I have to admit, I actually had the 45 of "Billy, Don't Be a Hero".
Loved it.
It's a terrible song to hear, and a terrible process to witness.
To tell the truth, I've stopped listening for music on the radio. The 'rap' and toneless music really turned me off. TV isn't much better, sometimes I can't find anything to watch with 400 channels on Satellite to watch.
The media is pathetic these days. I have turned to DVD and CDs of Shows, movies and music that I like to see over and over again. Once in a while a new song, like Harry Connick Jr. is played and I am a sucker for that.
The best movie, after "the Passion of the Christ", was "Master and Commander". I won't ever watch the Emmy's again. The political bashing is way to much and I have lost faith with the majority of actors and musicians these days.
Okay,
I like Olivia Newton John, BUT:
I Honestly Love You,
Please Mr. Please (Don't play B-17), and
Have you Never Been Mellow............
are just bad.
Cherish!
I have been to walk out of stores, weddings and push the next floor button on elevators.
If you want bad love songs, "Him" by Rupert Holmes would be hard to beat.
Experience?
'Billy, don't be hero, come back and make me your wife! '
And "Seasons in the Sun" as well. "We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun,...
Oh, and as runner up, "Brown Eyed Girl" another major league gack fest.
ping
The Lord took her away from me........
I think "Afternoon delight" was from the Starland Vocal Band or some such ...
Ewww, I HATE that song...
'Feelings. can't recall the artist's name. Pity.'
I once saw someone gonged on the "Gong Show" for doing that song.
What a great idea for a thread!
I nominate "(When We Get) Behind Closed Doors". I have always hated that song. Yes, I admit it, I'm a prude, but I always felt that song was a watershed moment in turning the US into a proud nation of sex maniacs.
For a female vocalist I'll go with Cher's "The way of love".
