I absolutely agree with you. I recall reading at one time that the very personality attributes that made it possible for McCain to resist his captors and to survive were not those that would necessarily serve him in good stead as a team player. And at least in his case he has proven that to be true, in my opinion. (Wish I could remember who said that!)

I have never cared for the idea of Mr. McCain in politics;nor ,may I add, do I believe the nation should risk putting anyone in charge who was in the hands of hostile foreign powers for anextended period.Just because a person has worn the uniform does not qualify him to lead.

Ya, I think he was speaking about keeping up public support for the mission until it is achieved. McCain is there for the duration until achieved, no matter what the body count. That's my take.

My take as well, but statement's like that just can not be made in the Middle East and it deserves approbation.

Interesting. Hillary starts acting like a moderate Dem now, and bags a "maverick" Republican for her veep. Then she runs as a moderate Dem, but the Dem party faithful know she's a radical leftist at heart, so they won't stand in her way.

Once she's in office... who knows how she would rule? If she was too liberal, too fast, Republicans would probably win a nice-sized majority in Congress in 2010. That's the only check on her power.

Yup he was in the cockpit when a Sidewinder accidentally fired from another plane hit his on the Forrestal, July 1969. I think it was A-4 Skyhawk he was in. He wrecked more planes than anybody in his squadron, hence the tag "Ace".

Now I also believe he is entitled to be goofy after what he went through as a POW, but I don't want him near any major decision process of Government!
