And another thing - great idea to post a link to all the threads!

and choose to not subject themselves to the abuse or condescention that sometimes follows posting something someone like you doesn't like or completely agree with.

I get along fine with 95 percent of the people here. And there are plenty of people just like me who don't post because they don't want to listen to the rantings of the unappeasables.

I just don't back down, and that really upsets some people.

"Once she's been fully Hannitized, then she might be ready for Free Republic. But if I were to have sent her here in the first place, I don't think she could have handled it."

That's kinda funny. I have noticed a change on this forum of late. This is more of a Republican forum than a Conservative one. Of course there are quite a number of Conservatives, they don't seem to be in the majority.

When people think confiscating property by imminent domain is a good thing, and when they argue over what kind of tax increases are best, something is wrong.

Not pointing any fingers at you. Just an observation.

Not too many people here argue much about imminent domain. A lot of us aren't too happy about eminent domain though.

Semolina Pilchard, I looked at your site http://rightandwrong.typepad.com/, and I can tell that you put a lot of thought into whatever you write.

As for me calling Hannity," a little Pixie", I am sure Hannity can overcome it. I mean Hannity said much worse about Free Republic.

Thanks. I've had the flu all week. Took just about all I had in me to post that. Going back to bed.

Yes, I can relate to not backing down.

I just would prefer to see more "reasoned discourse" and have fewer threads turn into pissing contests.

We are about a week apart from posting privileges! How funny.

No, I never pig-tied my hubby.

You are a truly good guy to start this "thank you" thread to Sean, and I can appreciate why would want to be nice to someone who has been around for a long time---

But, you have to be just a little disappointed that he slammed the site on a national radio program with the resulting negative publicity?

I mean, you and the other moderators work very hard to keep this site from becoming even close to the garbage that goes on over at DU, but instead of credit, your site gets slammed.

I, for one, am disappointed BECAUSE of what Free Republic means to me---and by natural extension, you, because it is your baby...

Hay Cyber!

...comments about FR in general, and JR in particular, he used to still does post on other forums. Really ugly stuff.

I had a little dust up with him just before he left for good. He is a good word manipulator; he can say something that looks nice and fuzzy (kinda like a sabre-Tigger) but is a sneaky little dig.

Some one posted a link to one of his present Internet homes, and I see he still has the same indefensible defense. But many still fawn over him.

Sean Hannity is a Great American. And he's SOOOOOOOOO CUTE.

You're not Sean Hannity are you? Sounds like something he would say to himself in the mirror.

But many still fawn over him.

That right there, the FAWNING, is my basic problem with talk radio icons.

The same with internet iconettes, like Sabre.

"I'm gonna tune in and listen to the SMART feller talk" is just not something I can fathom.

I agree with him that a lot of good posters have left. Not all of them; there are still a lot of good posters here.

But, some of the ones I remember best from my time here (registered in 2000) are gone.

Gotta agree.

Sean's doing a great job.

Let's aim our fire at the other side, and stop shooting our own troops.

If you're taking flak, you're over the target!

Sounded like AAA on my radio yesterday at about 3:20pm.

Let's hope Howard Dean or Ted Kennedy step up to the plate soon and do something truly Moronic (more so than usual) so we have some else to pound on besides each other.

Have a great night.
