Most of the craters on Mimas are named after characters in Camelot, .....

The Book, the movie or the political illusion?

If the political illusion, which one is Sir Sink the Car? The widest one?

Sci-fi's vision is once again ironically significant.

I had an eerier feeling after learning about Europa's atmosphere after Galileo in 1997. They have an atmosphere of oxygen. There is ice wih some current flowing features and land masses. It seems by far the most likely place for any form of life in our solar system.

2001: A Space Odyssey warned 'All these world's are yours to explore....except Europa. Attempt no landing there'.

There author claims it was complete chance, as he chose Europa largely at random. He could not have known how tempting Europa would be to visit in the search for life when he wrote the book.

I'd guess that depending on the velocity of the impacting mass, the pieces might either veer apart or come together {-{after the evil Halliburton satellite mines the chunks for oil.}-}

Actually, the original destination of the Discovery in 2001 was Saturn's moons.
