No doubt!
Wow, yes! It must have been a scary time for surgeons, not wanting to give tainted blood to their patients. So glad for you!
I'm not buying your logic. There is an agenda and it is being pushed off as science. BARF!
I had multiple windows open and was replying to several trheads. The execution comment was meant for another thread, not this one. My error.

No its not my logic, I stated verified FACTS.
Why don't you contribute useful information instead of casting aspersions upon people.
AIDS is not a "gay disease" -- it's a "behavioral disease". It compromises the immune system without discrimination. It doesn't care whether you're a male or female. It doesn't care about the color of your skin.
No its not my logic, I stated verified FACTS.
Verified facts? From whom? The AIDS community? Who am I casting aspersions on? I claim their is a conspiracy to demand more money for the AIDS situation thru use of this so-called new strain. How is that casting aspersions? Sounds more to me like you feel your boat being tipped and you don't want water coming in. And that water just could be the truth.

Conspiracy ? Wow what paranoia.
Talk about not dealing in facts.
End of discussion.
Good day.
Well I never saw any facts from you. Just rhetoric.
By the way, your byline says it all.
Sayonara Mr.Right
Aye, a valid point that flies right over the heads of some of the more insular people here. There are many gay conservatives, though they do lean strongly liberal as a group. Living in the San Francisco Bay Area, you meet all types. I know gay men who are against gay marriage, even gay adoption of children, and who generally don't see why such issues are even a public topic of discussion. Not all of them are the flaming cretins you see in the media.
Bush got more of the gay vote than the black vote. That says something, though I'm not sure what.
Yaelle
And there are great conservative gays who ALSO hate the gay agenda.

That is surprisingly quite true.
But it does care if you practice sodomy with lots and lots of people, or if you don't. AIDS does care if you practice anal sex a lot and are promiscuous. It also cares if you're monogamously married to the same (opposite sex) person.
All this crap about AIDS not being a "gay" disease is just that - crap. Until non-homosexuals start practicing the same level of promiscuity *and* anal sex as homosexuals, it will be a "gay" disease.
And, of course, a prostitutes' and drug users' disease. But I repeat myself.
The wild promiscuity which is the hallmark of the "gay" life cannot compare to the vast majority of heterosexuals. Can't be compared. It's a different universe.
I say, you play, you pay.
I am sorry for people who suffer from AIDS due to their own actions, but I'm way sorrier for those who suffer from AIDS due to someone else's actions - for instance, hemophiliacs who got it from transfusions.
Just as I'm sorry for people who get lung cancer from smoking. But they did it to themselves, as most AIDS patients have also done it to themselves.
And there is no reason why taxpayers should foot the bill. Maybe if AIDS patients had to pay their own medical expenses (as mrs lj and I have to do) they would be more cautious about their "gay" lifestyle.
It's a horrible way to die. I've watched a few people die from it.
Yes, it's totally preventable...and in a weird sort of way..that makes me have more sorrow for those that have HIV/AIDS.
FWIW-
If we have one case in New York, and another in San Diego, odds are that it's already propagated through every gay community in the country
