" Center on Diversity and Community, the school's Oregon Daily Emerald reported."
HUH??
"University professors are a privileged elite that work between six to nine hours a week, eight months a year for an annual salary of about $150,000, according to David Horowitz...more"
LOL, then cry! I had a boss that did zero lab work, yet managed to scam NIH out of $200K per year. The postdocs literally did all the work, and we had weekly lab meetings so he could find out what happened! If he wasn't napping (literally!) on his office couch, he was day trading on the internet.
He was a master BS artist though, and could give you the poor mouth speech while callously taking a yearly $8K minimum automatic raise.
Tenure must be destroyed!
Before the late 60's, he's be ranting to the cell bars in a phyco ward.
Abolish tenure? Change the terms. Profs are pressured to publish. Most university profs are not the best educators nor are they truly dedicated to teaching. They lecture from prepared papers, and among many they often or always impose their political biases.
By whom and how, and by what criteria are these "honoured" citadels of high learning, I mean higher learning, rated?
Wayne Morse lived down the road from me back in the bad ol' days--having his name even remotely associated with this 'symposium' must have him rolling over in his grave.

I went into the CU course catalog about a week ago...the best that I could determine (and I may have missed some things), Churchill 'teaches' only on Thursday and on Thursday from around noon until around 7:30 in the evening. According to reports, his salary at CU is $94,000 ($104K when he was head of dept.) Either 3 or 4 classes total...think it was 4.
WC doesn't have a PhD...in my experience that's unusual. Virtually every prof I had when I went to university (grad 2001) was a PhD. In fact, most of the faculty in Churchill's dept. holds a PhD. As I recall, only a couple (besides WC) did not. I'm assuming that the higher degree commands a larger salary.
Okay, I have a suspicion Churchill may have blackmailed somebody/ies to get the positions he attained at UC. Interesting that he is in *SUCH* demand for the Lecture tours at other *academic* institutions like Berkley and Hamilton. Too peculiar...AND, how would we ever know in depth about Churchill if not for the NET?
