Well, it would seem to me, judging by the way children are behaving, that a lot of their parents haven't taught them a thing about gun safety. On the other hand, Hollywood has done a fine job of glorifying the benefits of using a firearm.

If these same children can learn how to cuss, fight, show disrespect towards their teachers, and are misinformed about sex, which, BTW, their parents have also taught them directly or indirectly, I don't see the harm in promoting a gun safety program.

Y'know, the kids are gonna kill each other anyway, so we may as well teach them to do it safely.
This is why I have always love the idea a former Marine friend of mine had. He wanted to run a shooting school for gang members. His theory was that during drive by shootings, innocent bystanders kept getting killed. If he could teach the gang members to hit their targets, then the other people on the street would be safe. "They aren't bad kids," he would say, "they are just bad shots."
Yes, I am, mostly, kidding.
