The case that it was he was pretty convincing to me.

Your theory is correct. Deep Throat was a fiction. Some basis in fact - a source here, a leak there, (enough to provide some cover), plus a lot of assumptions mixed in with large helping of guesses.

It was classic. It provided the inspiration for the Rather Variations a few decades later.

Journalism has changed - Deep Throat has to fictionally die, and take his worldly fabrications with him to the hereafter. Otherwise investigative pajamarism might start opening the can, and let some old Wapo worms crawl out.

There is alot on google. Interestingly he was on the 911 commission. Haldeman thought he was DT and those journalist students thought he was.

He is in his early sixties and is a smoker. So maybe he is dying. He has led a pretty respectable career.

" I like eating sweetened condensed milk..."

We used to make mock angel food cake with it...unsliced bread cut in chunks and dipped into it and toasted over a campfire.

I think you're right. I've been suggesting that there was no such person as "Deep Throat" since the book came out.

This precious lady, from what I understand, has already passed away. The story of her sex slavery and her being delivered to find Christ as her savior is documented.

Yes, I was wondering the same thing. What was Rehnquist doing in the 70's?

Oh my. did you know there is now chocolate sweetened condensed milk? I don't even look at it knowing what freebasing does to people.

My mother made icebox lemon pie and Key lime pie with it. Oh Lord, I feel a craving coming on. My key lime pie is the best in the US but you have to be willing to eat it with raw eggs in the recipe.

Also interview Bernstein and get him on the record as well

Lots of luck. Last we heard from Bernstein he had a little too much to drink and had stolen a horse and buggy from in front of the Plaza and overturned the buggy in Central Park. I think the horse broke a leg and they had to shoot him. They should have shot Bernstein instead.

"The Washington Post has already prepared an obituary, which means the world may soon know the secret Woodward has managed to keep for 30-years."

That means NOTHING. Obituaries are routinely written well in advance for prominent people, whether in politics, business, entertainment, sports, etc. Final details are added in the lead paragraphs when the death actually occurs. This is common practice.

I've been trying to think what Liddy had said about it. I'd believe Liddy over many of the others.

How is Dean's health? Has it already been mentioned and I missed it?

Rehnquist was on the Supremes. Nixon nominated him in 1972. Nixon called him "Renchberg" when chatting with Haldeman or Mitchell about him. I don't think Rehnquist while on the Supremes was chatting with Woodward in the underground garage at the Watergate.
