Time IS running out on their ability to pull the wool over people's eyes.

These same people said we would reach the "point of no return" twenty years ago.

I find it ironic that this story would break while the Northeast is enduring some of the most frigid temperatures it has had in years. I also note that out here in the great big desert, we had a bumper year for rainfall, exceding the average for the first time in years.

Note "climate change" is the new term. I guess they don't want we the thinking people to have any more fun beating them about for speaking of a "second ice age" back in the 1970s, then talking about "global warming" today. It would be terribly embarassing to have them talking about another ice age next decade, wouldn't it?

Irreversible, eh? So it's never been hotter on the planet than today?

A few hundred miles north of here, at Ashfall Fossil Beds, there is an amazing collection of rhinoceros and camel skeletons from the time 9 million ago when Nebraska was a subtropical savanna. It make you wonder how ignorant 'science journalists' are about science.

The task force of senior politicians, scientists and business figures was established in March 2004. Its chief scientific adviser is Dr. Rajendra K. Pachauri, chairman of the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

The report should already be suspect with these clowns in charge.

"Yes, I beleive you're correct. India and China are not an Evil Democracy like the US is."

I think they are evil democracies, and India is even an evil capitalist state. They are just not being operated by white males. Hadn't ocurred to me before that environmentalists are racist, but it appears so.

Irreversible, eh? So it's never been hotter on the planet than today? Fools.

This time it will not follow the cyclical patterns observed previously. And we know this because our funding depends on our being right (for now).

Even if you accept that the Earth is warming, human sources of CO2 are so small in comparison to natural sources, and Kyoto would reduce such a small percentage of the human sources, that it's unlikely to have any substantial effect, as you say.

Kyoto is a pointless exercise.

And why wouldn't the British welcome having real summers for a change???

"Global warming approaching critical point "

i.e. People are starting to pay attention to the man behind the curtain and their funding is in jeopardy.

Kyoto protocols, if everything went as expected, would reduce global temperature 0.1 degree celcius by 2100.

Repeat after me:

Man-made Global Warming is a MYTH!
Man-made Global Warming is a MYTH!
Man-made Global Warming is a MYTH!

What ever the atmosphere is or is not doing, you can rest assured that it isn't mankind causing it.

When it reaches a "point of no return" does that mean they will quit talking about it and using it to raise money and grants from the government?

My favorite quotes from the article:

According to the report, urgent action is needed to stop the global average temperature rising by 2 degrees Celsius above the level in 1750...

-and-

No accurate temperature readings were available for 1750, the report said...

So how are they able to nail the point of no return down to a 2 degree rise over the 1750 average when they don't even know what that was?

Oh, and as for this quote:

...the level in 1750 -- the approximate start of the Industrial Revolution when mankind first started significantly polluting the atmosphere with carbon dioxide.

Maybe it is just coincidental, but that also happens to be the coldest part of the most recent Little Ice Age. Amazing how that becomes their reference point.

I don't know about "global warming", but the overheated misinformation campaign reached "the point of no return" A LONG TIME AGO.

But we're really doing it on purpose so that there won't be any future for mankind and the immigrants from the future won't travel back in time and "take our jobs".

That, or we could all turn gay.
