well, here in Connecticut, my mom's got the kids for an overnight, and my husband wandered off to play poker with the boys. Blizzard? Whatever. We each have one of those Gas Guzzlin SUV's that the prius drivers have so much of a problem with, but if I run out of hot cocoa, I can get to the grocery store. They're stuck with hot water.
Who's the sucker now??

9 inches so far, snows starting to pick up (Big deal) but my concern is the 4-5 ft drifts were looking at. How the h*ll am I going to get to the wood pile?
Weather here in Fairbanks is 1 degree....no snow...just got back from Florida a week ago left 80 degrees and arrived home to -40....
I guess this weather stuff only effects people when it moves out of Minnesota! We got our first real snow Jan. 21
Had about 2" before this. But it only matters when it goes east. I feel left out.
Cranston, RI here - reporting in with close to a foot of snow, with drifts of a foot and a half - two feet.
Still snowing lightly, but with a wicked wind. Not too cold though - mid teens.
Roads are passable, but not very well. Having some coffee, preparing for a little "home church" since services were cancelled.
My Grandmother's 75th birthday is today, and we're still going to have her party this afternoon. We've got a lot of money, time, and people invested in the celebration, so it'll most certainly continue as planned. Wish us well.

Looks like 12-14" here in York, PA, and the 35-40mph winds are really making the powdery stuff drift.
Only 10°F out there, with wind chills around -18°F; sure feels colder than that.
I'll be leaving before 12noon, to pick up an employee who'll help me get the 20ac garden center & nursery complex dug out. My GC&N equipment can easily handle this mess, but it's going to be the brutal cold which will take its toll on us as the day wears on.
Sam, Looks like we are close to being over the worse. Heavy snow should be over in our area by 10:30 or so. The good news is Boston is going to get blasted for quite a while, so we may have a record.
My first blizzard. Moved from Ventura County CA to near Harrrisburg, PA. It is something else.

73 degrees and sunny here in Scottsdale.... Lovely.... Have fun with your blizzard, everybody....

When the center of the universe, D.C., gets a couple feet of snow, the media goes into high gear with 24/7 blizzard updates and it's a crisis of biblical proportions. I love the media.
