Ok, that clarifies things, now what was unconstutional about it. He must have some theory. It seems to me that a statement of fact (unless proven to be false) is not a matter of Constitutionality.

Realistically? Not a damn thing.

The judge claimed the sticker violated the "establishment clause," which, as most here recognize, does not prohibit expressions or discussion of religion (or to be more succinct, "expressions or discussion of Christianity").

Based on that logic, I'd think you'd be more upset with the parents who sued and forced Cobb County to waste money defending its decision in court.

I am just as upset with the parents who brought the suit.

All three parties (the parents, the school board members, the judge) are equally guilty in my book.

Quit trying to make a big deal out of something that is not, and get back to teaching my children the three R's.

And quit wasting my damn tax money!

Perhaps you'll accept a scientific theory when someone states "It's the truth" without any backup, but I won't.

I've stated on any number of ID related threads, irreducible complexity is not a scientific notion. It is an article of faith.

Yeah, I live just north of you in Cherokee County and that ol' fiscal conservative Sonny Perdue just dropped a billion $$ yesterday on the GA state budget. Hopefully, some of that won't be going to any (R) pork.

So now federal judges are experts in what is a theory vs a fact? Of course evolution is a theory and not an established fact. The kids should be provided the best scientific information and theories out there and be taught to think and decide for themselves rather than being brainwshed by some governmnet school.

No, it's not.

I do not believe that the Bible is nonfiction. I do not believe in the existence of an activist deity who intervenes in the day-to-day operations of this planet. I do not accept the Biblical account of creation.

However, I find the theory that random mutation and natural selection were the only factors which produced the incredibly diverse and complex panoply of life on this planet to be wholly unsatisfactory. There are numerous reasons, which I won't get into unless asked, that I believe the theory is fatally flawed. I believe that the most likely alternative explanation is that an intelligent designer was involved. I'm not proclaiming this theory as The Truth (anyone who claims to know what happened is an idiot; the evidence doesn't rise to the "clear and convincing" standard, let alone constituting proof beyond a doubt) but I do believe it's more likely than the alternative.

There is a difference between young-earth creationism and intelligent design theory, and it's far more than a "fig leaf". While it may be true that many young-earth creationists use arguments from intelligent design to further their agenda, that doesn't erase the distinction.

And I find it appalling that a federal judge considered the manifestly factual statement that evolution is a theory to constitute a state establishment of religion. The judiciary has run amok.

Well no wonder...
They called for an open mind...a clear rejection of the establishment position and a clear appeal to embrace the Almighty.
Then they said study it carefully...which is only going to lead to questions. And we can't have that.
And finally they said consider it "critically"... a ringing endorsement of Jesus and an appeal to accept salvation if ever I heard one.
