Yes, Hanson was referring to the isolationism of the U.S.
during the twenties (when it was sick of world war to make
the world "safe for democracy", refused to join the League
of Nations, and wanted to enjoy the peace and prosperity of
the "roaring twenties" without foreign entanglements) This
isolationism continued into the 30's and has nothing to do
with the NAZI "fortress Europe." In fact the attitude of
most Americans - if they had even heard of it - was "build
your stupid fortress, just leave us alone."
The man speaks for me.
I for one have long been ready to "ride the buckboard" out of the deluded globaloney we have enmeshed ourselves in.
