I know that he spearheaded the Schwarzenegger effort, which I didn't appreciate.

The energy policy was awful as well, but didn't the Democrats in the state legislature sign off on it?

All I'm saying is that Pete Wilson knew how to win elections as a Republican in California, which isn't an easy task.

I suppose that his effectiveness as governor/senator will be debated for years to come.

oh practically the whole crowd in Sacramento signed off on the deregulation debacle...
but Wilson should have put a stop to the whole mess and didn't...
He's got about as much personality as the back wall of a racket ball court and less sense. LOL

Wilson was a joke as a governor...
he ruined the GOP in the governor's office until we recalled Davis which was a HUGE success but then elected RINOld...which was a HUGE mistake! RINOld should have stayed out of the race and let McClintock CLEAN UP THE MESS! Now we're in a bigger hole of debt than before!

Just curious and a little off topic, but can't a State recall a Senator? Surely if a Senator went stark raving mad they could be recalled couldn't they?

Well I see Hillary is in the mix.

The first steps in getting rid of the electoral college.

Or, how about Babs as a possible running mate for Hitlery in '08?
Farfetched, yes, but you never know with these Rats.....
