Old Fossil......you are completely wrong. In no way does chiropractic education compare with that of medical school except perhaps in anatomy. Chiropractors overuse xrays and attribute most disease processes to misalignment of the spine.
Certainly a back rub feels good but it is the healing of time and/or the placebo effect that brings most relief to their patients.
Known in Ireland as Chir O'Patrick?
Ack! Ack! I'm dying!
Aculeus, as puns go....yer slipping mate! *LOL*
Yes.
I won't ask you to take my word that chiropracty is voodoo (or perhaps just doo). Look into the evidence substatiating subluxation theory. It might have been an interesting hypothesis 150 years ago, but not today.
But my point was a broader one. If it offends you, then let's just say that EVEN IF chiropracty was voodoo, I wouldn't deny it to people. My only objection is to teaching it at a university. I deign to have an opinion, but I don't deign to impose it upon others.
In it's ultimate form, there nothing with homeopathy. (Except maybe the Ghost of Poisons Past.)
And in New York, we have Manny Pulashan.
Best definition I ever heard.
bttt for an intriguing article.
Not all subluxations "just go away". Ive had an actual radiologist point this out to me. Have you ever heard of Rheumatoid arthritis?? They can suffer from something called atlanto-axial subluxation. Have you ever heard of a pinched nerve?? This happens from misalignment of the spine
My doctor and I both use the same Chiropractor. They have both been beneficial to me and I appreciate it more than they will ever know.
I'm not going to flame you at all. Someone should check out the Chiropractor's credentials though. Some people are unethical no matter what profession they are in.
You speak from ignorance and bias....My Ex was a chiropractor.
I have used a a Chiropractor after I was rear ended last year. They work. And if need be I will nor hesitate to see one again.
"Are you really that misinformed?"
Hit a nerve?
"My only objection is to teaching it at a university. I deign to have an opinion, but I don't deign to impose it upon others."
You contradict yourself. You don't mind people having an opinion, just don't let them tell it to others?
Your problem is that you don't know a thing about chiropractics. You have a stereotype about them in your head and that is as far as you have gone into your personal knowledge of the practice. I guess it is all drugs and surgery or nothing at all.
We will have to agree to disagree.
Good posts by you. Chiropractors have strayed into treatments that are too esoteric. But the basic chiropractor treatment of moving bones and back bones has defiantly helped the aches and pains of many people. My step mother hated all alternative medicine but swore by a chiropractor that helped her neck pain tremendously.
Doctors don't cure everything and neither does spinal manipulation. But it sure has helped many and allowed them to live pain free lives. Can bones and spines become misaligned? You bet they can and a GOOD chiropractor will set them right over a number of treatments. So can an osteopath.
Ask your radiologist what he thinks of chiropractic subluxation theory.
No. I'm just not sure if you are saying absurd things to be facetious, or if you truly are that ignorant. I've seen both types on this forum.
But if you did hit a nerve, I'm sure a little chiropractic manipulation would fix it right up. And it'd probably cure my hangnail to boot.
I let anyone tell any opinion to anyone. What is your major mental malfunction shellshocked?

I know what chiropractors claim, and I know what the founding principles of chiropracty are. That is sufficient to make a judgement regarding whether or not it should be taught in a university.
I guess it is all drugs and surgery or nothing at all.
You guess wrong. BTW, where did you get that nonsense? Did your chirpractor tell it to you?
