"Belushi was coked out of his mind when he was doing the Samurai skits."
That would explain the scar on Buck Henry's forehead. (^; Belushi was waving his sword around during one of the skits and got a bit close. Buck was visibly upset for the rest of the show.

I wish they'd do South Park and Monty Python back to back.

I've read interviews with Dan Akroyd, the way he describes it, SNL was one big party backstage.

Do people actually watch SNL? It's been years........The last SNL I watched was the episode where Sinead O'Connor ripped up the Pope's picture and "spoke truth to power" (i.e. made some moronic leftist statement).
Looks like I haven't missed much in all these years.

Rush may be handling it now, but when you look at his multiple marriages, you've got to wonder what it will take to get through to him. I love the guy, but he's got to clean himself up in multiple ways and then stay that way. We need him.
Very well said. I didn't see the skit so I can only assume that I would not have found it humorous because of its crassness, but you are right about Rush.

The last show I remember was when Eddie Murphy did a skit with Je$$e Jack$on; something like, "Sanford and Son."
"Man, This skit bites! Black people don't talk to their parents like this!"

Now, I just wish comedy channel would pick up Benny Hill.My mother loved The Benny Hill Show. She'd stay up late to watch it. I'd come in from a date and she'd be in a fit of giggles so I'd join her in cracking up at his bawdy slapstick shtick. (There was another comedy show that followed Benny Hill...some British guy with glasses...sat on a stool and told cerebral jokes...resembled Peter Sellers. I wish I could remember his name, darn it.)
On what network does Chappelle air? I've never seen his program and have heard he is hilarious.

I went to see Eddie Murphy when he was doing his live standup act. He is a genuinely talented comedian. He could get away with a lot more "on the road" than he could on the tube. Side splitting, knee slapping, almost-wet-my-pants funny.

Agreed. I had his first album.
You could see a lot of Richard Pryor in Murphy's show.

Yes. Sort of a mix of Richard Pryor and Bill Cosby, actually.

I've read interviews with Dan Akroyd, the way he describes it, SNL was one big party backstage.I know someone who interned with SNL in the mid-'90s. It hadn't changed from the time Akroyd describes and I doubt it has to this day.
