I find that the negative comments about Canada are clearly directed at our liberal government and their socialist policies.

I find sometimes you get the odd one a little over the top, but I have as many nasty comments about our liberals and socialist media as well.

I find Americans have been extremely friendly, and responses very warm and cheerful, at least to me. I have been in discussions and always treated kindly. One time I was misunderstood and that resulted in someone being rather nasty. That person was immediately called on it by American FReepers. He very graciously said he misread what I had posted and asked forgiveness...not by private mail.

My experiences on Free Republic have been most pleasant.

Our pleasure. We're just hoping that our conservative leader Stephen Harper can win the next election. He's an honest man like President Bush who keeps to his word. In their meeting together yesterday he assured Bush that he would address the missile defense program and provide his support, and sure enough he confronted PM Paul Martin about it in Parliament today.
