What about the Phoenix Project? That project proposes putting wind powered generators off shore. The wind generators produce electricity that is used to split the hydrogen from the water. No need to use coal or nuclear fuel so the method is much cleaner.

I know there is a web site relating to the Phoenix Project.
I can't believe it isn't being pursued. Initial cost could be a factor. But the cost of doing nothing will be far greater.

Just curious, what nuclear element does MRI use?

None.

The "nuclear" is based on the effect the strong magnetic fields of the technique have on the nucleii of the cells being imaged.

Do you know if there is any method to use hydrogen as a feedstock to produce carbon fuels, e.g. gasoline, diesel, etc? I recall a book written in the 50's, I believe the title was "Engineers Dreams" by Willy Ley. In one chapter he wrote about making gasoline from hydrogen and carbon from atmospheric CO2.

Well said, Fred.
