As much as I hate to think about it, I'm almost ready to agree. When I think about going to a game, I always think firstly about the unpleasantness of dealing with drunk people when I am sober. I'm not a teetotaler, I just don't drink much at games. Our USHL team has finally put in a non-drinking section, making it much more fun to go to hockey.
You know, it's bad enough to put-up with bad mannered people at movies where there is no alcohol. I just don't see the necessity of booze at the sporting events. "What's wrong with a drink? Isn't it like a Coke?" Well, 1) nothing (with one) and yes, more or less. But the real question should be "why do we NEED it there?" The answer is, it's just one more way for teams and facilities to make money.
Artest had the headband thrown at him because he grabbed Ben Wallace's crotch and called him a female dog, according to Derrick as he spoke to Rush. Rasheed Wallace held Ben back from hitting Artest and then Artest laid down on the scorer's table.
I say isolate the drunken idiots into their own section and let them fight it out.
Rush's hearing aid was acting up.The guy said Artest grabed his own crotch.
