Workers Can't Sue Postal Officials Over Anthrax, Judge Rules

Thank you -- now that you mention it, I remember having read that article a while ago.

The anthrax collection that was destroyed was at Iowa State University. The working collection that was not destroyed was at the National Veterinary Service, which is part of the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. They're controlled by completely different organizations, so I don't see how it's sinister (or even surprising) that one collection would be kept and the other destroyed; the two decisions were made by different people under different pressures.

In fact, this article basically attributes the destruction of the Iowa State anthrax collection to political pressure from the "public relations-minded governor" of Iowa.

That's one explanation that actually could make sense: the governor looks at the situation and says that, regardless of the scientific or investigatory benefit of maintaining the collection, politically he would be better off having it destroyed. The calculation would be that if there were another anthrax attack and it could even plausibly be traced to Iowa State, his career would be over, for having done nothing after the 2001 anthrax attacks. Once it was destroyed, he would be safe. Given that political decision, what he should have done was to arrange for the whole collection to be moved to some organization willing and able to handle the security for it. But he's a politician, not a scientist.

Some-day an historian is going to have a heyday with FreeRepublic. Read old threads. Read them and reread them. Total immersion, the eightfold way. Many who post have an agenda. Some who post are players. As you read, you will realise who knows more than they are saying. You'll see who is working with whom. Take nada at face value... always ask yourself the motivation.

Could you be a little more specific in what you're getting at? Personally, I doubt very many people posting here are true "players", though I don't doubt for a moment that most of the people posting here have agendas. After all, Free Republic is a political bulletin board driven primarily by opinion and news analysis.

I think you have a piece of the puzzle. I wish I knew more about the variations of the anthrax the perps used, but my thinking is that it was a collection. Some was weaponed to a higher degree, and some was not.

The anthrax at the newspaper office, the first one, was not a weapon, it only infected a couple people.

The stuff that went to ABC,(I believe) was also a more standard grade, but the other stuff was hot and air mobile. A weapon.

Some certainly could have come from your source some ten years prior. I doubt it would have been weaponized.

These people are very patient, and have been here long before the first WTC bomb was planted. Probably still are.

Very many? Course not. Just a few, just a few.

An aide to the Maryland gov was spreading personal rumours on FreeRepublic about a political opponent.

Why come to FR? Several differrent purposes. FR gets prime consideracion for all of them.

Of course never do the most interesting examples see the light of day.

That Stevens "index case" has me going a bit too. Stevens received a lethal dose. Ernesto Blanco damn near died.
MAYBE one other employee had "flu-like symptoms"...but the rest of the staff was unaffected...BUT the building was so contaminated it was finally abandoned (for all practical purposes).

One poster (Muyawiya ?)believed the whole episode started right there (right in that postal facility);that contaminated letters were dropped-accidentally on purpose- in flats, and travelled by truck to NJ-at which point the letters were actually mailed.

Yes. It provides fairly explicit instructions (!) on how to culture and sporulate anthrax.

It's also notable none of the postal workers in Fla. were affected.This does lend some credence to the idea of the latters being dumped on "flats" for random handling at large northern postal facilities...with the co-committant requirement for a "person of interest" in Fla.

There could also have been a lab somewhere in the area-I'm thinking a producer of veterinary medicines,or even electronics parts,or paints.

That Stevens "index case" has me going a bit too.

Stevens wasn't really the index case, although it was the first case to be announced publicly and maybe the first to be diagnosed.

See the onset dates in UCLA's list of the cases. Stevens was probably the eighth case.

There is some doubt about some of the onset dates, so Stevens might, in fact, have been earlier than eighth, but he definitely wasn't the first or the second.

Yes, he may be one of the "CISKO" bunch from IUP. He certainly knew Dr. Fredrick W. Woodley [ IUP 1998]& Charles Brown [IUP 1990] who went to Ft. Detrick in late 1990. Also, Investigator Cole [IUP 1988] knows who Berry is. I will see if I can find his photo on the letters, Cole made for us.

The Camel club at Ft. Detrrick, came from IUP years ago & Cisko & Patrick were the organizers. The "true" Kamel Klub Kid was Fredrick W. Woodley & He was very proud to be a member of the KKK - although he was self appointed.[since the real KKK would not have such an asshole] I am very suprized that his name was used at Ft. Detrick in 1992 and recorded, along with the Name Charles Brown; as part of the investigation involving Dr. Assaad.

If the FBI finds out Berry was still partying with the old Camel Club members from IUP- then he best come clean with the FBI ASAP; or he may find himself locked in the big house - with all the Camel Club Members.

I wonder if Berry knew that they planned to kill people in the attacks???

Boy, those Camel Club Members shure could smoke the reefer, I'll bet Cisko still has some in his deep freezer. The one thing that I can not understand is why Donna M. Grant [iup 1989] has not come clean in the investigation; we know she had a "hand" in it.
Ps: Dr. Steven J. Hatfill recieved 2 medical degrees from a university in Zimbawue. IUP biology department has a long standing teacher exchange program with the University of Zimbawue. Could Cisko or Patrick have learned about Hatfill through that program? IDEAS?

correction> Fredrick w. woodley graduated IUP in 1989 not 1998 & is nick name "The Kamel Klub Kid" was recorded at Ft. Detrick at the time Charles Brown got in trouble with Dr. Assaad.

Cisko instructed the aformentioned persons not to put their pictures in the IUP yearbooks, so you will need an IUP alumni directory to find them.

Also Charles brown went as far as to change his middel inital, not only in the Alumni Directory, but also in the 1990 IUP telephone directory; just to cover his tracks from IUP to Ft. Detrick. Check it out it's a matter of record & stored at the IUP archives.
