Has no bearing whatsoever on intelligence.
The faster you can read and comprehend, the less likely you'll pick out each word.
People...That...read...each...word...aloud...in...their...head...will...most
...likely...be...able...to...find...each...letter
People that pattern recognize a sentance will miss most of them.
People read for meaning, has no bearing at all on "super genius" in fact, I'll wager that it's an inverse relationship.
BTTT
6 is what I got too...
Dang it. I was feeling cocky because I got them all until the last question.
I should have know better too. I used to tell a similar puzzle that started with "You are driving a bus...." and ended with "Who is driving the bus?" after sending the testee through a series of mental arithmetic. Similar.
Plus, I should have realized that it was another trick question anyway!
LOL Do it! Then post us a link! If intelligence has anything to do with it, we'll soon know!
Okay, that's great...now say "Toy Boat" three times real fast.
I have to get to work...will check this one out later
Got me...I only counted three. And after reading several of the other FReepers who counted six makes me "feel" dumb!!
It's simple really. The true Freeper mind considers "Fs" the same way a Philadelphia precinct worker considers Republican votes. It's got something to do with the fact that Kerry's middle initial was "F" (standing for Fitzgerald, of course).
Bizarre, I counted 4 at first, but then really had to look for the next 2.
" Try not to screw up in the next question. To answer the second question, don't take as much time as you took for the first question.
Second Question:
If you overtake the last person, then you are...?
Answer: If you answered that you are second to last, then you are wrong again. Tell me, how can you overtake the LAST Person?
You're not very good at this! Are you?"
Actually, you can overtake the last person in a race if you lap them, no matter your position - other than being that last person of course. I guess this is really a matter of semantics really, but lapping someone would be in the truest sense of the word overtaking them in a race!
And will never be able to keep up on the "live threads" :-)
Mine too!
Or hold your tongue in your fingers and say "my father works on a pilot ship".
"I guess this is really a matter of semantics really" - sorry that was REALLY redundant! LOL
Always a spoilsport.
The problem with your contention is that you aren't instructed to read this sentence for meaning. You are instructed to count the number of times a letter appears.
Slowing down to count the letters because you recognize a trick coming and getting the puzzle right isn't an indication that you are a slow reader and by extension, lower IQ. Granted, doing so doesn't make you a genius either.
However, I would wager that those who got it right have played these games before, or they are in general, less likely to make mistakes.
If you read for context and not to count, the only indication is that you can't follow instructions!
I hate to admit it, but I missed all four while my husband missed three. Even knowing they were trick questions, I still had a "blond moment".
