"Until my son went into the Marines, I never really realized what that flag stood for _ but now I do," she said.

For any anti-smoking fanatics out there, notice that she doesn't give a damn about your agenda!

A nice fat contract with Marlboro would be nice.

He may smoke 3 packs a day, but more importantly, he's smoking terrorists left and right.

I can tell you what is the main thing on his mind, besides staying alive.....

"Wonder how the Wildcats will do this year?..."

I would not have guessed him to be 20.

That face looks like he's acquired about 35 years of understanding.

As a free-lance photographer I can tell you this is a great picture.

The expression on the soldier's face, the war-paint, the intense focused eyes, the Bogart-like cigarette thing and the way it is framed..up close and personal. It's damn near perfect.

Images mean a lot in our world.
And I believe this one of an all-American hero is a classic. Take my word for it.

Smoking is the least of his concerns. He is a marine. He protects and serves. I saw the picture when Dan Rather spoke about him and it brought tears. I am so proud of our U.S. Marines! There are some of us out there who would be more than willing to put a care package together for him or others. Just email the address.

Nearly all of the "Greatest Generation" -- the World War II vets -- smoked.

Do we know how this marine is doing? Any chance of him getting back to his mom for Christmas?
