I think I have received a picture of every employee at Camp Bullis holding this animal. Well post it already. We want to see it too.

In Alabama we have ferral hogs mostly Russian Black boar. They can be pretty testy and big. I got a 350 pounder a few years ago at 150 yards in the swampy bog from a tree stand. I had to shoot left handed but I practice left and right with all my guns. One shot in below the ear with my 270. I have dropped some closer that got back up and had to shoot them again. I aint about to go after one with a spear. No closed season and no limit on them.

Spears just work when you use dogs.
I'm in Oklahoma on the Red River, the hogs are thick and terribly destructive. It's common to see 20 - 30 in a bunch.Even our Biologists and Wardens will tell you that if you can't pack 'em out to just kill 'em and leave 'em,they're such a problem.

Don't believe everything you hear about Okie noodlin'.
It's a good way to bring in the good ones and a lot of fun at the same time. :)

It supposed to be true--but I'm with you, I've never seen one. One of the problems would be in melding the steel and the brass together so they'd stay together.
But you'll notice most of them have brass hilt guards. The reason for the softer metal was to "catch" the blade of the opponent

Davy Crockett grinned bears to death.

Thanks for the post. The hilt makes sense. I will try to research how they could put a brass strip on the blade in 1830 +- 10 years?

I suppose they could braize (is that the word?) the brass onto the steel.
