I meant that YOU should feel foolish, because I NEVER mentioned welfare and yet YOU keep claiming that I said she was on it.

And no,there IS an income cut off,in N.Y.C., to be eligible for the WIC program. :-)

The info in the article doesn't add up.There was so much left out and now,you say that some of the info was erroneous.

I don't assume anything. That's why I asked you what you were talking about. I have no reason to be upset with you racist or not because if you said you were, you would be no different than many others. I live in a red state too and voted for Bush. But what does that have to do with anything?

Now you are making more sense. And I do not know if it was erronous or not. All I know is the news media gave a different story tonight from my local news station.

What you need to know,is that those ages,in the OT,were not based on the same numerical system we use.It was a Middle Eastern literary device of the time

Would you reference the source of this information as I would be interested.

It is my understanding that the various peoples had their own calendars.

The Egyptians, Babylonians,Hebrews,; Chaldeans , Medes, Persians, Greeks Romans all had their calenders which varied to some degree.

The Hebrews was based on a thirty day month and a 360 day year at the time mentioned.

It under went a change or adjustment around 1400-1300 BC as did most others around this time for reasons unknown but they all seem to acknowledge an increased number of days in a cycle.

It has nothing to do with anything, but you seem to be looking for reasons to attack me, so I thought I'd supply a few more. If I was wrong, I apologize. Life's too short to get in arguments with fellow freepers, besides, it's Friday night.

It was a very interesting piece and it started with a visit to the town, talking to town folk black and white that were a buzz with the news. They went to her home which was not a dump but just average working class home. She and her family talked about the incident and their shock and disbelief. The embarrassment of the teenage grandchildren. And she did not appear extremely fat and unhealthy she appeared more pregnant than anything. She talked about the husband and you could see the twinkle in her eye about him. Actually the story was more "family" than the one with the lady from nyc. I think if more people would have seen it they would not have made the posts that they did like: how many mens she's slept with, she's fat, and unhealthy, she's on welfare etc..
Not that I agree with a 59 year old having a baby, but she clearly looked like a person that did not plan it and her and the ex are going to get remarried to work together and take care of these twins.
The media may have been totally wrong and the info may be incorrect but I can only go on what I saw.

My observation...you would have liked her but felt relieved that it wasn't you.

If the kids were embarassed, it's probably because most kids think the idea of their elders having sex is gross *LOL*

She's 59,even in 1960,15 year olds weren't getting married in rural areas.

You shouldn't be so dogmatic in your statements this is what turns people off.

You can't possibly know that.

My wife and I where married in 1966 she was from the country and I from a city of over 200,000.

I ALWAYS make "sense". It's just that some people(if the shoe fits......)reply without fully reading what my replies actially say.

And this story STILL has gaping holes in it.

It has NOTHING at all to do with calendars. It's a literary affectation, which was used in Babylonian and other writings of the time.

This was extensively discussed on two shows,I saw, on the History channel or Discovery,or maybe both.I'm sorry,I don't remember the names of the shows, but both were very convincing and backed up with examples of contemporaneous writings;not to mention the fact of Hebraic captivity time spent under other nations and the cross cultural strains in the Bible.

I just saw a report on the Atlanta CBS station and it was pretty in depth. She's due next month so a lot of the dangers are past as far as the pregnancy goes. She looks pretty healthy considering. I think she's still in shock to be honest, I know I would be lol. She said she got suspicious when she started having weird cravings.

You married a 15 year old? How old were you ? Or is this about something else?

If the person is not clear and not fully able to express themselves, I'm going to ask what you meant to give you an opportunity to fully explain yourself if you care to. If not, that's okay too. That's the point of the boards. Don't take it as an attack. Just a request for more info.

Yea, that's probably the same one I saw. And like I said, there was nothing fishy about the story, she just appeared to be a person that is going to have a baby at 59 and in disbelief because she thought her tubes were tied and she was free from worrying about being pregnant. She did not look unhealthy to me either. Just pregnant.
