Yes we should die because of our sins, but, the good news is, God says if we turn from our sins, we will live, and He will forgive us!

Why? Because the punishment of all our murders and hatred and abominations has been voluntarily taken by His Son, Jesus Christ as our substitute. God's justice was satisfied. In love, He now offers us forgiveness and healing and hope and a new life. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life, and no man comes to the Father, but by Me."

God loves us. He says He does not take pleasure in any of our deaths, even though our punishment is deserved. He wants to heal our hurting hearts, and offers forgiveness, reconciliation, and a new heart no longer hard as stone. This is a free gift!

It only comes through Jesus. That's THE key, the foundational truth for all "issues" in our lives. Only He can forgive us and change us individually, and as a nation. Our laws will reflect His truths, and not our sinful natures. Our actions will reflect His commands, not our philosophies. Voters won't want to change until they experience the thrill of His forgiveness, and want to live in gratitude.

Look we can debate the merits of Alan Keyes till the cows come home for XMAS and it will not change the fact this guy can't win an election.
To many of you on this thread are as much denial about Keyes ability as a candidate as the Democrats are about why they keep losing.
Mr. Keyes just never was or never has been a candidate that people warm to and will elect to a public office.
It's just not that hard to figure out, some people are electable and some aren't and Keyes just isn't someone that can be elected no matter what.

Where did either of us say we voted for people who were pro-abortion or would have?

There are actions Reagan took that I disagreed with and he is one of my greatest heroes. I have on several occasions said where I stand on the issue of Alan Keyes. No matter what kind of campaign he ran, good, bad or indifferent, I would have voted for him over Obama.

Just like anybody else, Keyes is not above constructive criticism, no matter what he and/or others might say.

Thanks, I'll pass on a course in logic from you. Perhaps it is you who needs the instruction.

politicians are expected to be bland and low-key and make mostly generic references to a God....

I can't disagree with that analysis, unfortunately. :-(

No, you're mixing two categories that are incongrent. Apples aren't oranges. Keyes losing is very different than the Democrats' platform, the reason they lose, and their refusal to allow people to decide their budget for themselves rather than have government spend their money for them. That's very different than Keyes. He didn't get the votes because the people in Illinois did not want to stop murdering, and wanted a platform which promotes destructive behaviors.

If our standard for electability is as YOU suggest, who "we warm to", Abe Lincoln probably wouldn't stand up.

The struggle to get people to understand this feels like changing the tax code. It should just be poof! 10 percent for everyone. But no, people who make money OFF the system as is, would lose their jobs, and it never happens. Same here. Murdering our own little citizens could be stopped tomorrow, but it would require people working to adopt and raise kids for 20 years, and we're too selfish.
