Or could it be good old American know how?

Probably the Martians helping us out.
To: Toddsterpatriot
Maybe they should look into powering it with liberal BS. We are awash with it.

I don't knwo why they couldn't have just rigged up solar-panel wipers, or a brush of some sort. Then this issue of dust accumulation wouldn't be much of an issue. Yes I know, that the rovers are performing much much longer than expected, But why spend all the time and effort for only a 90 day planned mission?

A bunch of big Republican wins can mean only one thing: MORE LIGHT!

I agree with you, maybe an 'air' blow system would help also. Still, these little suckers are doing great.

I think that they are as surprised as the rest of us on the performance of these two rovers. They build in a lot of redundancy hoping to just meet the 90 day goal. I hope they keep funding this until the rovers fail. It really irritates the Euros.
To: Toddsterpatriot
I'm guessing that it's some homeless Martian that came up the one of the rovers and cleaned the solar panels with old newspaper hoping to get a handout.

That option was available, but would have added $20.00 a month to the payments. They decided to go with the undercoating and paint protection package.

...not that I'm the suspicious type, but I really
MUST QUESTION THE TIMING OF THIS!!

I know they're having fun with the machines, but have we achieved any of the objectives....i.e. finding evidence of life?

Good one!... Do ya suppose the hot air rising from BM (big media) is somehow boosting solar output?
