From 1967 to 1990, Mitofsky was executive director of the CBS News election and survey unit, and was an executive producer of its election night broadcasts. He conducted the first exit polls for CBS in 1967, and developed the projection and analysis system used successfully by CBS and Voter News Service.

They were getting away with the "system". They made up the stories, they made up exit polls, they made up voting results, they fudged elections to fit their "predictions" to "legitimize" the results. They got into power.

Not anymore! FReakin' FReepers are messing this nice corrupt MSM-RAT system. Yesssss!

Bloggers hired the staff and set the parameters for the exit polls? I had no idea.

I heard The CNN gang (including Larry King) report that the bloggers had put forth the (mis)information about the exit polls.

CNN gang said they had put no such information out on their network.

Happily I didn't watch TV at all on Tuesday until after 8PM

"None it was used to wrongly call a state, due to extra care after the disastrous election night of four years ago when networks twiced prematurely declared Bush the winner in Florida."

They were calling states with 0% reporting using these exit polls. So that is false.

This is an attempt to weasle out of there attempt to influence the elections while at the same time trying to kill the credibility of there competition...The internet.

Michael Barone was on Fox a few minutes ago and seems to suspect (but said he could not prove) that members of the kerry campaign (but not those high up in the campaign) had a hand in it.

He explained the scenario and seemed plausible to me.

As long as people buy their newspapers, magazine's, books, watch their TV stations and listen to their radio stations, they will not change and will get stronger. The only way to change, is to hit them in their pocketbooks.

As far as I'm concerned the bogus exit poll was a Kerry campaign dirty trick. Just as it was released yesterday there was a lengthy feature on CSPAN which featured a tour of the exit polling place and some guy there lecturing us on how worthy and accurate their exit polls are. It was so stagy and phony looking in the same style of a Joe Lockhart that it was immediatly apparent that the exit poll was bogus and that drudge, wonkette, jNRO etc. were being taken for a ride.

This was just a new way to do the same old scam. The media four years ago called Florida for Gore with 2% of the vote in.

They may have discouraged voters but not enough this time. People have started to figure them out.

If Blogggers did anything is give the left false hope yesterday and made our victory sweeter.

NEP members note that the organizations that commissioned the poll did not use the information to mislead the public.

Well there they said it - so I guess we can put it to rest, the idea that while the MSM was gleefully reporting Dubya sinking in the polls, it was not to demoralize us, but just honest reporting of what they were being told (by bloggers).

Uh-huh.
