22% of those polled rated moral values over the economy (19%) and terrorism (18%) as key voting issues. And that moral-centric vote rated 79% for Bush's moral values compared with 21% for Kerry.

JFKerry deceived himself into believing he could deceive America.
Hey he sure seduced the media whores, and they are still whoring for him....

Kerry's biggest Mistake was not doing his French Surrender Earlier in the Evening.

Picking Edwards who has no experience,
and, most importantly, he had absolutely no plan. What I heard was, "I will be different."
How? What? And the media just played along and did not question Kerry on his Senate non-record, his Vietnam service, his Paris trips, nothing...
In Fact! That was the democrats biggest mistake: having the media as the DNC media wing of the party. Four and one-half years of Bush-bashing was transparent.
Democrats always overplay their hand...

Given how extremely liberal Kerry is and how poor he is as a candidate, the anti-Bush machine did everything they could to make this close. The miscalculations were his votes for the past twenty years.
The most important issue according to CBS last night was moral values.

I did not vote for Kerry because he refused to allow inspection of his Military records. As a veteran, I could
not understand why he kept these records secret or at least unavailable to the public. Any veteran not requiring that his record be open is not a loyal american veteran. k2afe

His scummy daughter in her see-through dress didn't help. That family is the worst kind of white trash and the American people know it and don't want it in the White House.

I think the evangelical vote blindsided them.

Kerry's biggest mistake was thinking he could run a vacuous campaign (I'm not Bush) and be elected president. It always seems (thank God) that no matter how many people don't like the other guy, you have to give the people a real CHOICE or they will not vote for you. Playing on hate is never enough, you have to have some people that love you. No one is going to miss John Kerry.

1. They thought the Swiftboat guys would be ignored.
2. They underestimated what the 11 marriage amendments would do for turnout of conservative base.
3. Libs assume they "owed" anyway.
4. And most of all, they once again have misunderestimated Bush, and the fact that they were running against adults.
5. The press and unions are proven to be impotent.
6. EVERYONE missed the battle of the first wives, which Laura won BIGtime.
7. The Dems put their money on a lazy, arrogant, rich dude who couldn't possibly connect with the average American.

Running for POTUS.
Any other endeavor would NOT have activated the Swifties, and exposed Lurch (so clearly) as the lying scumbag that he is. Lying on the 'after action' reports so he could con his way out of the line of duty means his lack of character eliminates him from any position of trust.
He could have gone on to live the rest of his life without these terrible facts coming out -- now the world knows.

Also significant was the Bush effect in Black churches ---normally Dim strongholds. GWB's strong moral commitment resonated in those churches by strongly religious Black believers who wanted no truck with gay marriages. Our Black co-religionists had also been betrayed by Rev Jesse Jackson and his extra-marital fatherhood.
