I vote in Monrovia. THere were 400-500 people in line at 7:15 this morning. I've never seen anything like this.

Voted this morning in Catoosa County. Maybe a 15 min wait.

No worried, no problems. Only bummer, some DUmmies took a knife to my yard sign during the night. So I took pictures, and put up 2 more on each side, and left the sliced one there for all to see.

Learned today one of my son's teachers told him that in a mock election he HAD to vote for Kerry.

Georgia Freeper eyespysomething is a poll watcher and has so far turned in two REPUBLICANS! One had a W '04 shirt on and another had a local Republican candidate shirt on. She made the point that she can't in good conscience let Republicans slide and call Dem violators. Meanwhile, the NAACP has signs up that read: "Keep the dream alive, vote democrat" with a photo of MLK. And eyespysomething's fellow poll watcher (who missed both Republicans) is wearing an NAACP T-shirt.

I'm in South Forsyth (across the street from Fulton/Alpharetta) - long lines this morning (400+) but died off around 10:00 when the wife went (morning lull). Should pick up significantly around lunch and then after 5. VERY heavy GOp area. Even saw abou 30+ BC04 volunteers on the street corners waving hands and BC04 signs. Interesting given the demographics.

Turnout looked very heavy this morning, I got to the polls at 6:30am and cast my ballot at around 7:30.

There was a young lady conducting exit polls right outside the polling place, but she was completely ignoring anyone who was not a minority. I smell a rat as far as the upcoming exit polls are concerned...

My youngest son goes to North Middle. I don't know how long it has been since you have taught there, but they no longer have "Homeroom." It is called "Pride." No homeroom tacher, instead a "Pride Teacher."

Glad he is my last kid to go through the school system.

I'm in Dekalb, close to 85 and Clairmont.

Me too..only took about 15 minutes, but the poll worker said this was the heavist she had seen in 40 years. I drove down to my church (Immaculate Heart) on Briarcliff and offered up a prayer and then on the way back I was at Clairmont & Briarcliff and there were several teenagers there waving Bush signs at traffic..made my heart fill with joy and calm.

I got word that in Cherokee County (All Republican County) lines are long. In my area between Canton and Woodstock there is a two hour line. At least this was the case at 7AM this morning.

Long lines at Pickneyville (Norcross) voting station.

Normally a good voting area, today it is particularly heavy.

I posted this a few posts up, but thought you might have missed it:

Learned today one of my son's teachers told him that in a mock election he HAD to vote for Kerry.

I was appalled. He didn't tell me because on the whole he likes the teacher and probably thought I would call and raise hell, but he told the woman who keeps him in the afternoons and she told me. Needless to say, I'm pretty irritated right now.

My husband and I arrived to vote at 10:00 after reading in the news that the worst time to go was 7-9:30 a.m. and 4:30-7:00.
The lines were long but moving well. I overheard someone say he was there early this morning and that a line snaked out the door to the parking lot (which was not the case when we arrived).
Folks, stand firm. Don't let long lines or bad weather deter you from doing your duty. THIS IS TOO IMPORTANT! Hopefully, we will all be celebrating online tonight!
Also, PRAY!

My five year old came home yesterday and told me about their class vote. She said one of the boys voted for John Kerry, "dad can you believe it?" I'm so proud of her!

Just got back from voting here in Roswell. No waiting at all. I was 997 out of 2600 registered in my precinct. The biggest shocker was this was the first time in my memory that I had more grey hair than most of the poll workers! It surprised me that many of them were high-schoolers.

They've held several mock elections at my boys' school, and Bush has won all of them. The first one, back in September, my 8-year-old son convinced two kids to change their votes to Bush. I'm not sure how he handled the teacher telling him to vote for Kerry - but I know he didn't do it because he doesn't want to have to sleep outside in the rain tonight.

I hadn't prepped for that one, so I didn't know how to vote, so I left it blank. I don't think it was too consequential.
