=== Yet for all our nation's sins, we are, barring Our Lord's Second Coming, the last best hope of mankind.

On what grounds do you base this belief?

I would prefer facts although your prose is decidedly tempting ... as if the treatment of the unborn were a sin we were in the process of righting when, to the contrary, we are only further capitalizing on the assigning of Non-Personhood to the conceived, the unborn, the comatose, elderly and otherwise Useless.

Particularly given the Fact that we are the world's greatest exporters of death on the planet -- in the form of our US-AIDs efforts which have been caught redhanded supporting draconian abortion, birth control and forced (even stealth!) sterilizations worldwide -- and our attention to "Women's Rights" is the first order of business in ongoing "democratization" efforts, I have a problem with believing we are mankind's best hope.

Even if our initiatives were not etched in stone in the Congressional Record, defense memoranda, etc. and evidenced all to clearly in facts worldwide, when was "democracy" ever mankind's best hope?

How is it the "empowering" of women which liberates them from motherhood and liberates them from "patriarchy" (only to have them consistently vote themselves Support, Security, Faux Sexual Equality AND a wholly rigged workplace where women who cannot possibly pull their own weight enjoy unfair advantage over men) enures to mankind's best hope?

I don't think the Welfare State which forces these artificial realities upon the populace can in any way be construed as "Mankind's Best Hope." A State which forces indoctrination of Evolutionism in all public schools, puts its biology texts under the direction of those macabre members of Mengele's shop it paperclipped out of Germany (while selling out White Russians and Poles and Slavs to the Reds it supported wholeheartedly) is not by any stretch of the imagination poised to be the best hope for mankind.

These are the things that bother me greatly. I love my country and my countrymen (however much I may despair at present) but I find nothing admirable, just or even remotely logical about my government.

Until I find the part of the Congressional Record or the American domestic and foreign policy documents which retract all comments heretofore about "Downbreeding," "Genetic Quality" and the fact that the death rate "must" go down if the birth rate is not properly controlled and the ratio of productive labor brought in line to the numbers of Unproductive young and old, I have no reason to believe that anything has changed.

In fact, with the first order of bidness being the doubling of the NIH's out-the-door budget and the sanctioning of "destructive" human research on the excess manufacture of Potential People, I have no reason to believe their not just finally hitting their stride.

These folks for whom natural reproduction -- the old "God's blessed us with a kid" sort -- is the gravest threat to the human race.

Understand, Wallace, that nothing would make me happier than still to be of a like mind with you. I just can't get there from here anymore. Though I have no real expectation of changing anyone's beliefs and certainly do not wish to do so where it would plunge a person into despair, I guess the reason I keep talking is because I hope to immunize folks in a way.

I came to these ugly truths in a very gradual fashion courtesy primarily of the Blood Trail and a study of Catholic complicity in the State's intervening to sanction and enshrine as "rights" to alternative reality birth control, abortion and artificial reproduction.

I was lucky in that I'd read the "Parental Consent" bill of Texas and happened to be in Washington and have a 3-hour lunch with the Texas legislative director (who happened to be holding down the fort at the NRLC at the time). Kinda depressing but it was interesting to have him confirm that I was correct that -- not only did the bill change nothing save providing perks to the pro-aborts -- but that he was essentially mispresenting the bill in the press in the hopes that people would "believe" or "fear" that the legislation actually had some relationship to its Orwellian mistitle.

I think stuff like that prepared me for some pretty earthshaking surprises down the road. None of which I've managed to come upon without some weeping or nausea. I'm not cynical about it. But I think we run a great risk of deluding ourselves if we go on believing things that simply cannot be true anymore ... Look Around You.

I do remain hopeful but I assure you my hope lies other than the politicians and the government who consistently err on the side of encouraging us to Exclude the Creator from only the most intimate and most meaningful aspects of our lives on earth: the recognizing and the creation of and the caring for Other Souls.

I said I was driven to despair at times ... that's not quite so. Profoundly sorrowful perhaps but I'm understanding and I'm respectful (or try to be, it's hard with the ones you love) when folks just Don't Want to Hear It.

I realize it's hard to understand how someone could still be joyful or hopeful and have such a clear appreciation of just how grim the situation is. I will say in my defense that there is something to be said for having things MAKE SENSE for a change. In fact, the clarity afforded when all the masks fall off and the Escher drawing is turned right side up actually deepens one's appreciation of what is truly valuable this life and assists greatly one's journey toward Substantive Truth.

I kinda miss the old days when I still could blame everything on a clown like the Evil Clinton (most recentedly feted by Bob "Both Sides of the Aisle" Dole in the same fashion Kennedy was honored by George H. Bush ... both of whom stepped out of nowhere to remind the American People that actual removal of the Mad Bomber of Sudan would sully the decorum of the semen-stained office).

But I don't think I'd trade that "fitting in" and agitated sort of energy for the detachment, however sorrowful at times, I have now.

Christ is the greatest hope for mankind. Period. If ever this nation comes back to Christ, I'll include us in His number.

And while the "moderate" muslim may not make direct truck with the terrorists he is still a supporter if only of the moral sort because he does not condemn them. Or if they do condemn them, it is only in the fashion that the reprecussions of the terrorist act might effect the "moderate" muslim. There are only two types of muslim, the non practicing (aka non-muslim) and the practicing.

You know, for the most part I like Bush, but listening to him speak of how Islam is such a great religion hijacked by the Islamics, etc makes me want to puke.

P.S.: if you MUST ping your Bathroom Buddies to your replies to ME, please do so in private where I am less likely to view you as (1) a mental pygmy who cannot defend himself his own arguments and/or (2) a rabblerouser of the Gangbang mentality whose primary interest is not debating me but sowing division and inviting others more capable, perhaps, than to you to butt in.

There is only one reply to such an assine kiddi post: WAAAAAAAAAAAA.

Hmmm, just watched a Pentagon brief yesterday, that said it would have taken 18 large semies to move that much material. That they think they can account for about half of it as they used it to blow up other captured munitions and so on.

Geee, another Gertze fart, imagine that. Now where oh where, may I ask, are all these conspiracy russophobes now that the story is fizziled out of hot intestine gasses? Just like the liberal press, they do their damage and then run and hide till the next opportunity. But gads if they will not run 200 some threads while the flatulation is good.

But worse then the MSM, they won't post their appology on page 17, hell they'll deny there was anything to appologize in slamming another bunch of silly Christians. (/sarcasm)
