The left said that we deserved the 9-11 attacks for our "imperialism". That was the same excuse the Japanese used to attack Pearl Harbor and other lands.

Zell served with Kerry in the Senate...imagine the stories he could tell.... No he didn't (at least by Kerry's definition). If the Swift Vets did "not" serve with Kerry, then this Senator from a whole 'nother state didn't.
Also, Kerry would have had to attend a lot more sessions of the Senate to qualify as "service".

Good point.
I would like to hear more from Zell about OTHER Senators - Leahy...Murray...Cantwell...and maybe - Harkin? LOL.

"The administration has attempted to censor American broadcasters including some reporting from Germany. Talk charging them with treason has been overheard. Is it because
Mildred Gillars and
William Joyce are so critical of President Roosevelt, especially in this election year?" < /looking back with the left >

I think the "no absolutes" thing was just there for transition. True hardline lefties are indeed absolutists. Their value set just happens to be inverted from reality.
God bless you guys for Home Schooling your kids. It takes a lot of dedication, but it's well worth it. As a kid who grew up being home schooled, I give it two-thumbs up.

Well, absolute truth to them is what it needs to be for the moment.
Homeschooling kudos! Glad it went well for you...days around here can be trying, but we do the best we can...which is a far cry better than what WAS happening in public school.

And if the modern press had been there, most likely we would see the nightly news begin this way:
"Guten Abend und willkommen bei CBS Abendsnachrichten, ich bin Dan Rather. Heute hat Regionalkanzler Johnson noch ein stärkerer Grundgesetz etabliert gegen die "Patriotischeresistenz" daß sie werden sofort geschoßen worden soll..."

We often forget that World War II was no unrelieved string of victories until the final triumph. We often suffered defeat on the battlefield, sometimes catastrophic ones, but we prevailed because we knew that we had to, since the alternative to victory was just too bitter to contemplate. And this what annoys me about the self-rightousness of the Vietnam protestors - they couldn't care less about what happened to the country or the South Vietnamese, it was all about them. I find it no coincidence that the modern age of terror began with the US withdrawal from Vietnam simply because we didn't have leadership which laid out the facts for us.

ROFL!!! Zell Miller has a wickedly funny sense of humor and his gift for satire is a talent I didn't believe existed in a United States Senator. After you've read this, you'll NEVER say Mad Zell again! BWAHAHAHA!!!

Zell wrote a great send up of the partisan media and today's Democrats. They won't laugh when they read it at the DNC this moring, I'll guarantee you that - or at the New York Times. He just about skewers the Left's pomposity and sense of self-indulgence that just has one rolling on the floor crying in laughter. Cause THEY are ridiculous in serious times.

Thank you for thinking of me, CC. I love Zell, and I often think of Iwo Jima when I hear Democrats whining about Iraq.
