Creative Loafing? Boy that's an important journal. Bob has really hit the big time if he gets published in Creative Loafing.

I have two really nice suit jackets (and no matching pants); for the next planned "Dress-up" (my daughter's wedding), I have been informed that I must be first fitted for and rent a Tux;
My wife worries about the important one, as yet unscheduled.
I find myself reminding her that that one will only be seen from the waist down.

But there is such a thing as letting an issue, like expanding government, get out of control due to neglect.Oh, I agree. But the time to voice criticisms like this -- especially for someone in Barr's position -- is after the election. The problem certainly isn't going to get any better if Kerry wins.

real-life conservatives know that this election is about the war, and it isn't about anything else. Would that be the war on drugs, the war on poverty, the war on illiteracy, the war on high prescription drug costs, the war on privacy, the war on wealth, the war on high gas prices, or the war on terror?

BBarr let us down during the Waco hearings. He came on like the prosecutor and then melted away leaving the show to Zoftgren et al.

I guess most of the naysayers above can't comprehend the message Hugh Hewitt delivers to his audience on a daily basis.
W is not Perfect. Ronaldus Magnus was not Perfect. Abraham Lincoln was not Perfect.
Only GOD Himself is Perfect.
sKerry is the path less traveled ..... for good reason.

Barr is insincere...
He knows that the Congress still controls much of the spending.

Bob Barr has become a puzzle. Why come out three weeks before an unbelievably tight election and throw sand in the president's face? He has to know that fighting the war and creating an entire new department for homeland security has caused the body of the deficit. Larry Kudlow knows it, Bob Barr must have heard rumors. This makes no sense.

BBarr let us down during the Waco hearings. Everyone let us down during the Waco hearings. (We let ourselves down for not taking the situation in Waco into our own hands....)

It only makes sense to me if you are talking about a person who wants to be in the spotlight. Get press coverage for supporting the president? Not much. "throwing sand" at the president, now that's another thing. MSM eats it up. And so does everyone else.

By the way, Barr's suggestion that Bush's base is eroding is total BS, per every poll that I have seen. Every poll I have seen suggests Pubbies support Bush by 90%+, which is near unanimous. The "conservatives" who claim they are disillusioned with Bush to the point that they get a hard on by the prospect of his defeat, did not vote for him last time. They are either fringers or trolls in most cases.

They are either fringers or trolls in most cases. Does valuing real American freedom over nebulous assurances of "safety" qualify one as a "fringer?"

Agreed. The numbers go up...the numbers go down, but the base is always solidly for Bush in every poll I've seen.
Wasn't Barr going to run again in his old district?

But the time to voice criticisms like this -- especially for someone in Barr's position -- is after the election. If criticism is needed, it should be voiced immediately upon recognition. Any system operating strictly on positive feedback will go wildly out of control.
Barr, like many on FR, has watched both parties move further to the left. While his barbs appear to be aimed at Bush, they are in fact aimed at the GOP leadership. Whether we like to admit it or not, Bush and Kerry are just figureheads for their parties -- or more accurately, for the faceless interest groups who control the parties.

Since when does "real American freedom" mean freedom from a deficit? What a stupid argument.
