Y'know if push ever came to shove on this topic (which I seriously doubt), I could just see Kerry saying that he pulled out a rosary.

"We plead guilty to having a pen." Just because they plead guilty to having a pen doesn't address the fact that it was a large white square. What's the debate violation count now? 1 black pen, a stack of 3x5 cheat cards, an ear piece... Watch the next debate when he pulls out OBL from his suit of tricks.
Drudge said on his radio show last night that fake shots that put paper in his hand have been circulating over the Internet, too.

I agree. Or a handkerchief but then why wouldn't they admit that. Trying to tell us it's a pen makes them look like, well, liars.

But the mystery was solved when The Post reviewed a Fox News Channel feed from Thursday's debate: Kerry pulled out . . . a black pen. No way that was a pen

Even if it was a "pen" (don't know if anyone has mentioned this already, sorry if it's a repeat), both Mr. President and sKerry were to give their items to a 3rd party, who "would place them on the podium." This is according to the rules both camps signed.
I noticed it right away, but was waiting for someone to say something. Thought it was weird for him to have notes...

I wonder which video the Post examined.I wonder if they even looked at the video...period. I think they didn't and happend to venture at a guess what that object was black and then deduced that it had to have been a pen.

***I wonder if President Bush was so taken aback by this flagrant disregard for agreed upon rules, that that may have distracted W for the first part of this dog and pony show.
I agree! And I know there is the fear of looking like a crybaby, but someone from the Bush camp should say something publicly. Cheney, for instance, at the start of the debate tomorrow. He should say, look, there is video of Kerry obviously taking something out of his pocket to use. Regardless of what it was, it was against the rules of the debate. Maybe President Bush doesn't want to make a stink over it, but that kind of thing makes me angry.
Just MHO...

From the now "closed" thread on the same subject:
Democrats negotiate with the same faith as middle eastern terrorists.
This includes the same "faith" as those Iranian and North Korean "do-gooders!" (Oh, what the heck...I might as well throw in "leftist/liberals" as well as the majority of UN officials...you know the ones...those working for the "common good of all."! (Dare I say...BARF!)

"Light reflecting off the pen, making it look white and square?"
. . .can a hand wrap itself around 'the light'? Don;t think so; in video frames; his hand is 'palmed' out; in a grip; so to speak. . .
It is as 'clear as light'. . .

Fox is avoiding the story. Maybe they're getting sensitive to the criticism that Fox is a conservative republican tool. My guess is that unles they are sure it was a note card or paper .. they are going to very careful on commenting on a story like this
Time will tell how Fox handles this

If Kerry is right-handed (does anyone know?), I doubt he would reach in with his left hand to pull out a pen.

Why would they call it a black pen anyway ?
This what Post reported seeing from 'Fox Feed'. . .
in reply to the issue is this response from Kerry campaign staffer (/Drudge):
[When pressed on the fact that even brandishing a pen from his jacket would have violated debate rules, the Kerry staffer laughed, adding, "See you at the inauguration, Drudge". ]
Liberals are beautiful. . .don't you think?
