There is the notion that while the candidate himself may hold certain views which are contrary to the party platform, the fact that he was elected on that platform would dictate his agenda and guide his actions.
Can you imagine a situation where Congress writes the laws, the Executive enforces them, and the Judiciary settles differences between citizens and these laws?
I know, it's revolutionary to actually believe that the branches would actually behave as the constitution dictates they should.

Yes, he was the only conservative in the race. He wants to see all illegal immigrants deported. I hope he runs for CA governor in 2010 and then president. He is very Reaganesque.
