They make me tremble with anger. My view is just that we can do a whole lot more damage to the evil we face by destroying its source. "revenge is best served cold" because there is more time to make it appropriate. Our challenge is that we don't have a whole lot of time. I want Bush to be cool enough to make deliberate decisions, and angry enough to make strong ones. I don't know, but if there are any combat veterans here, they may testify that grieving is for after the battle. I don't know.

I applaud your civility, but must continue to disagree. If the war escalates to strategic use of nukes, yes, there would be tactical decisions. Tactical nukes pertain to battles. Strategic refer to theatres. My point was that nukes would be first used tatically, not strategically. If they are used strategically, we're not just taking out Fallujah. We would also, since the focus was the entire theatre, be nuking every major city on the Arabian peninsula. So yes, I guess that would end the war. At which point I would refer you to my fifty previous posts: there is a better way to do it.

[Beating Dead Horse]... to a finer point, there is a difference in a "tactical and stratgic" battleground weaponry, and a difference between the strategic and tactical use of each.

A B83 (strategic) warhead could be used in a tactical scenario (unlikely because it is a 1200 kiloton weapon), and a W79 artillery shell could be used strategically, even though it has a 100T charge.

My point is that it is time to consider the strategic nuclear option, whether a tactical (like a W79) or strategic (like a B83) weaponry is used.

This horse is officially dead. We have refined the disagreement to a point upon which we can agree. If the President and his advisors decided to use nukes, whether tactical or strategic, I would assume they had an intelligent reason, and I would support their decision. I'm sure there are many people in the pentagon considering just this. Until then, I'm content to trust their decision to this point not to use them.

I'm sorry that your memo on the "Official Way To Refer To Marines and Sailors" never made it to our neighborhood. I grew up referring to those in the service generally as soldiers. However, in deference to your exhaustive knowledge of "proper" terms, I will sit corrected.

Damned muslims!! Always hiding. What a bunch of wussies! I'd love to take a line of 50 of them on one at a time. They're animals. Human filth! And as usual, any muslims anywhere disgusted by that? Apparently not. How do we ever know which ones are like this. They all smile at you during the day but then who knows what's going on elsewhere and behind closed doors in mosques and such. I can only think that one of these days they're going to do something that causes people nationwide or even more extensively than that to burn down every single mosque within reach. I cannot understand the tolerance for Islam in this country. I just can't. It's a hateful religion with absolutely no qualms about that hatred and "orders to kill" those that they hate. I mean it's flat out unbelieveable. If you interchanged the words black and females for jews and christians, there'd be global outrage. I just don't get the tolerance.
