A few weeks ago, Bush was in Seattle for a private fundraiser on the same day Kerry was here for a public rally. A local cartoonist siezed the opportunity to contrast the "secretive, backroom, fat-cat" Bush campaign with the "open-air, everyman, populist" Kerry campaign. Of course a couple days later Kerry was doing a private fundraiser in Martha's Vineyard while Bush was doing a public rally in Missouri (I think it was). Only a dishonest political cartoonist would try to claim that all of Bush's campaigning is done at private fundraisers, and Kerry's is all done in public rallies. And these pics today underscore that point.

I don't know where that Kerry pic was taken but the guy shaking his hand looks just like a nasty, drunken union boss who occasionally shows up at my local watering hole.

What intrigues me is his ability to remember names.

You are not alone in noticing this talent that impresses people who have met George W. Bush. It's a trait that endears him to others dating back to his days as Governor of Texas. He not only remembers people's names, he is known for his habit of creating playful nicknames for people which he can recall with ease even after long periods of separation.

Not to burst your bubble but have you studied the ramifications of the FTAA and the recent behind the scenes push to include illegals in our Social Security system? I find it near impossible to support someone who (along with a whole lot of Rep/dem collusion) is placing a future burden on our children that is almost unfathomable.......they'll be spitting on our graves long after we're gone!

It can't be any stranger than my support of the Young Conservatives of Texas even though it appears the president is a t-sip.

I'm sure Lurch and the lawyer will usher in the small government conservatism you want.

Cate -- I agree. Now, if anyone starts complaining about the lady putting her hand over the rude man's mouth.. yer gonna have to pass by me first... These Bush supporters in the audience are exercising civil politeness -- no one is flipping the protestor off, headlocking him to the floor, spitting on him, screaming the usual liberal "F" word at him.
