I only wish we could get a super majority in the Senate to invoke cloture. That may not happen, but let's pray for it.

Amen, Tame! FERVENT prayers for that!

These are the other 'undecided' races:
-AK: Murkowski (R)- Knowles (D)
-CO: Coors (R)- Salazar (D)
-FL: Martinez (R) - Castor (D)
-GA: Isakson (R) - Majette (D)
-LA: Vitter (R) - John (D)
-NC: Burr (R) - Bowles (D)
-OK: Coburn (R) - Carson (D)
-SC: DeMint (R) - Tenembaum (D)

The AK, CO, and OK seats are Republican currently.

Maybe Dashole will invite Howie Dean, or Al Sharpton to stump for him?

They are beloved figures in S.D. HAHAHA

I've heard GA vey likely goes to the GOP. I think Vitter and Mel Martinez will also win.

That was where the one woman was busted,(on the reservation) but everyone knows that was just the tip of the iceberg. Voter fraud was obvious in several other places in the state regarding Democrat wins the last go 'round....that's about the only way they can win up here.

For a Republican cadidate to lose a race up here they have to almost be moving backwards. That has happened, though...

If Daschle doesn't get those same thousands of dead Sioux indians that voted in 2000 to vote again he loses.

The Beltway Boys discussed the Senate runs last Saturday and I was surprised by their projections. GA will probably go R but NC Bowles might take it. Upon NC there was disagreement between Fred and Mort (so whatelse is new?). GA would be a pick-up but NC would be neutral if Bowles replaced Edwards. Murkowski might have the worst race of all, but Fred thought she might pull it out given the heavy Republican base of Alaska. Coors would be a hold in CO. FL looks like a new R. They thought DeMint has it in SC (another new R) but were uncertain about OK and LA.

This would mean we perhaps lose IL and AK but pickup GA and SC--keeping us the same at 51 but if we could get SC, NC, FL and hold OK and CO we would be at 54.....

JUST THINK HOW GREAT IT WOULD BE IF WE KEEP ALL OUR OTHER INCUMBENTS AND PICK-UP SOUTH DAKOTA!!!! We could be at 55---Oh, would that seem possible?

If we keep AK, CO and OK, and add FL, GA, LA, SD, and SC, we will have 55 Senators. IL will go to the Democrats and Bowles will win NC likely.

I think Jindal has plans to learn the ropes in Congress before making that jump. Maybe 2012. He is still very young.

Imagine what the Demoncrats will have to say about the "nonwhite" son of Indian immigrants running against them?

If the GOP candidate won in 2008, then Jindal would have to expect until 2016. Maybe he runs for Governor again or for Senator.

"They don't like anybody at DU who is not a complete socialist."

Are there any Democrats who aren't socialists?

How could anybody be defined as a Democrat if they aren't a socialist?

Why would anybody consider themselves as a Democrat if they first weren't socialists?

Calling somebody a Democrat and them identifying them as a socialist would be redundundundant.

Is there a snowball's chance in Hades that Bowles will lose in NC? Mort and Fred were quick to point out that Bowles has never carried more than 48% in an election and Bush's lead in NC will give him some coattails there.

You can't say Burr has no possibilities. In fact, the NC race is tossup. However, they say the favorite is Bowles.

I'm not so sure what is going to happen after the second Bush presidential term. I hope that the GOP will start grooming several possibilities soon after this election is over. I'm sure that Hillary will make a run. By then, Dems will probably get some court to allow Democratic votes to count 2-for-1 to make up for being genetically shortchanged on brains

I'd love to see Jindal run against Mary "Lipo-suction Lips" Landrieu for the senate. God, if that woman has them enlarged any more, they are going to have to erect a scaffold to support them!

Landrieu is a disgrace to the state of Louisiana. To quote an article in Time magazine many years ago: Mary Landrieu is a good old boy in a dress.
