Re- 9/27- I've come across that date several times- as a date of concern. I wish I could recall where and why.
Just a question - why did we not see tapes released by them before 9/11?

US TO SELL ISRAEL 'BUNKER BUSTERS'
The United States plans to sell Israel $US139 million worth of air-launched bombs, including 500 "bunker busters", able to penetrate Iran's underground nuclear facilities, Israeli security sources say.
The Haaretz newspaper quotes a Pentagon report as saying the planned procurement sought "to maintain Israel's qualitative advantage and advance US strategic and tactical interests".
The US embassy in Israel declines comment and refers questions to Washington.
Israeli officials also have no comment.
But a senior Israeli security source said: "This is not the sort of ordinance needed for the Palestinian front.
"Bunker busters could serve Israel against Iran, or possibly Syria."

I would guess that the escalation gamed is what posted earlier. That is Iran would us the 12 divisions closly positioned to the border take advantage of the 1) lack of an Iraqi army, 2) Widely dispursed coalition forces and 3) Iranian special force 'plants' in southern Iraq and attack into S. Iraq to gain control over Iraqi ports and oil facilities, effectively cutting off the supply lines to US and coalition forces. Southern Iraq was where the 1980 war raged since that is where there is a commonality in that both are Shiites and the Iranians had some common support from Iraqi Shiites. Probably to take it one further, Iranian naval forces would likely seize upon the opportunity to try to shut off the Persian Gulf oil tanker traffic and try to prevent US Naval forces from regaining control of the Gulf, denying the abilty to ramp up for a counter attack. Russia doesn't even need to play in this one.

VIENNA : Iran has begun converting a large amount of uranium mineral into the feedstock for enriching uranium -- a necessary stage in the nuclear fuel cycle -- a senior Iranian official told reporters.
"Some of the amount of 37 tons has been used. Tests have been successful," Iranian atomic energy chief Reza Aghazadeh said Tuesday.
He was referring to 37 tons of uranium yellowcake which Iran had previously said it would be converting into the uranium gas that is fed into centrifuges to make enriched uranium.
The UN nuclear watchdog International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has called on Iran to suspend all parts of the nuclear fuel cycle, including conversion activities.
But Aghazadeh, speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an IAEA general conference, said Iran did not recognize the validity of this IAEA demand, since uranium enrichment is allowed under the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), whose safeguard rules the IAEA monitors.

In a former life I was a military intelligence officer. But the mutter discussion clip has some validity in that Musharrif has a lot of folk gunning for him and such a move could occur. I don't think Pakistan has the ability to enter the conflict, no deployment capability. Getting Paki nukes to Iran is a whole other matter AND India would still need to be recconed with. I think projecting responses out of the Iran/Iraq theater gets really 'what iffy' if youknowwhatImean.
I am close enough to you neck of the woods, and I notice a similar formation while driving to work this morning. There were about four contrails in a fan formation. While looking up and noticing this formation, I thought to myself, I wonder if anyone else is even paying attention to this! I should have known that a fellow TM'er would be paying attention!

The same kinds of claims were made officially three years ago too. Yet on November 15, 2001 DEBKAfile’s counter-terror sources maintained that the downing of Flight 587 was the work of terrorists:

Despite adamant denials by the US Federal Aviation Authority, it is now becoming clear that prior to the crash, US intelligence did indeed receive numerous warnings from intelligence sources outside the United States that a terrorist strike was likely on Tuesday, Veterans Day, to mark the two-month anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon. According to the US 9/11 commission, Jdey, 39, came to Canada from Tunisia in 1991 and become a citizen in 1995. With his new passport, he left for Afghanistan and trained with some of the September 11 hijackers.
He was dropped from the 9/11 mission after recording a “martyrdom” video. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, planner of the World Trade Center attack, claims Jdey was recruited for a “second wave” of suicide attacks. In 2002, he was one of seven al Qaeda members sought in connection with possible terrorist threat in the United States. (snip)

Do you feel that the Paki nukes are secure? From everything I have read, the ISI is quite divided in its loyalties.
Team effort here, plus those days seem like a lifetime ago. At present I think they are secure, due to the threat poised by India and the islamofacists haven't gotten enough clout to stage a complete coup, only assissination attempts. I can only hope he has good security plans in place in the event of assissination, but then the military has been pretty tight, providing his power base. They wouldn't let such things out of their hand too easily.

After 9/11 on some thread here there was mention of a DoD project with a major north midwestern university in developing an aerosol to kill anthrax spores. It had a detergent like tide and and a veggie oil in it and was supposedly for contrail disbursement among other methods.
