I agree. I don't like him, his politics, or his followers any more than anyone else around here, but we really lower ourselves to the DUmmy level when we indulge in this kind of tasteless banter. I remember how disgusted I was when I saw the posters at a certain DUmb website mock Reagan's death & funeral--it confirmed for me what utter cretins and slime they are over there. I hate to see us engage in the same kind of low-class behavior over the health woes of a man who was, no matter what else one can say about him (and there's plenty ill to say of him, at that), was once a president of the United States. I wish him a full & speedy recovery, as should we all. Well put. The Good Book and its Author endorse that kind of charity.

The vast right wing has finally taken it's toll on President Clinton Stress is an awful thing and I think President Clinton is a very sensitive man. For eight long years they drew his blood and it had to be very stressful. They way it affected his family, etc., had to have broken his heart. The way they tried to destroy his reputation, much the same way they are doing to Kerry right now, had to be a very bitter pill to swallow. His insides must have been churning. The press is now referring to his bad eating habits, etc. (of course) but I think they contributed to his illness more than the food he ate. I personally could never figure out how he had to stamina to keep on fighting. I love him and I'm angry at what they did to him. Today's news just brought back all the memories of how terrible he was treated. I couldn't bear it if we lose him.
Change a few details here and there and I bet this DU'er could make a very lucrative living writing romance novels...the kind with Fabio on the cover. I'm not kidding...and there's big money is those books!

I guess I meant to specify POLITICAL opponants, not our ideological ones. Heck, the Jihadist are our PHYSICAL opponants now. I wish upon them anything and everything, not excluding a high-influx of radioactive particles hurling thru their carcasses!

I couldn't agree more. Disgusting! I couldn't believe what I was seeing this morning. Shame on all of you and you know who you are.

May the former president's family be at peace and may their prayers be answered.

I'm no expert, but I've seen this several times and I believe it is a side effect of the meds. I say this because sometimes people "forget" their meds and wake up for a while.
Wonder if he says anything weird under anesthesia. When I was coming out of knee surgery years ago, the anesthesiologist asked me how long I had lived in Canada. Having never even been to Canada, I had no idea what he was talking about but he said while I was "going under," I kept jabbering about going back home to Canada. The only thing I could think of later is that I had read a National Geographic type article on Canada not too long before the surgery. Then again, maybe its was just an off-the-wall question he was asking to see if I was lucid enough to know I was not Canadian!

Thanks for answering, Spunky.
My sister also had an artificial aortic valve, and that's why she was on coumadin. I'm not sure, but I think when she started chemotherapy, they told her she had to stop the coumadin, and it would be risky. She went ahead with chemo anyway. Her lung cancer was at stage four when they found it. We thought she might make it for a couple more months, but she was dead in one month.
Thanks for your expression of sympathy.
I guess it really has nothing to do with Clinton. However I am still sad about her death last November, and it makes me wonder- why her? Why all the good people? Why all those innocent kids in the school in Chechnya?
Bill Clinton will live to be a hundred. He has the best medical care (our) money can buy. Go figure.
P.S. I'm glad your husband is doing well, after all his medical problems. He's a real trouper.

I thought shrillery was as tasteless and classless as ever when she was reporting on his health and said "at least we have good health care insurance" and then walked away from the mike....real nice....I've never cared much for her anyway, and if its possible, I care even less for her now.

I remember that Jim McDougal was just find at lunch and had a heart attack in prison that same afternoon, and then died. I wonder if Clinton is suffering from Arkancide. But I don't see any reason why the dems would want to kill him off.

I don't know and don't really care what he says under anesthesia, but I suspect the demsa re genuinely worried about having their best strategist since FDR on the ropes. I am serious about the medicine given to heart patients. It dulls the mind. Perhaps they will find something with minimal side effects, but my father-in-law, mother, and my father, were seriously impaired by medication.

"I grieved my Lord from day to day, I scorned His love so full and free, And though I wandered far away, My mother's pray'rs have followed me.
O'er desert wild, o'er mountain high, A wanderer I chose to be, A wretched soul condemned to die, Still mother's pray'rs have followed me.
He turned my darkness into light, This blessed Christ of Calvary, I'll praise His name both day and night, That mother's pray'rs have followed me.
I'm coming home, I'm coming home, To live my wasted life anew, For mother's pray'rs have followed me, Have followed me the whole world thru."

Yeah, I have health insurance that pays maybe 1/3 of the total, plus I have to pay it first, and wait to be reimbursed. So I might as well not have it. And you can bet we won't qualify for it, if there is nationalHILLARYhealthcare. We will still be stuck up sh*t creek without a paddle. Dental insurance is just a joke. We have to pay $700 for a crown, then insurance pays about 1/3 of it back to us. I thought insurance was supposed to try to pay the amount of the service. Health insurance is really a joke. Medical non-tax reimbursment accounts, now those are GREAT.

A friend of mine's father just had surgery. And he is an older man, much older than Clinton. It messed up his mind. It is still messed up a month later.

There can be brain damage from open heart surgery, but I convinced most of the dulling is caused by drugs. I say this because I have observed exactly the same symptoms in three people close to me, but only one of them had surgery.
It is very distinctive, unable to concentrate, drowsy most of the time. Like I am on antihistamines.

Regarding your comment (#1,121):
he should just get off the stageTake it from someone who has been there (recipient of the operation), he will indeed be off the stage for awhile. That operation, which entails sawing through your breastbone, for one thing, leaves you in a weakened state for three to four months.
You have almost no energy at all for the first two months, if you are the average patient.
It is impossible to have planned this, but now Mr. Clinton will not be able to campaign for Mr. Kerry. Fancy that.

According to the press, he hasn't filed a plan for his funeral.
I've been told that one of the first things a new president has to get done once he is in office is to have his funeral planned asap in case anything unexpected happens. At the very least, I guess Clinton could fall back on that plan for an outline if he hasn't updated anything lately.

Health insurance is really a joke. It's worse than a joke. These insurance companies employ armies of people to find ways to determine that you are not covered. For employees it gets worse every year, every year they demand more money, and you are insured for less and less and you pay more. It's way out of control.
