Kerry must have had guts to troll the Mekong Delta's spider web of rivers and narrow canals knowing that Viet Cong like himself were waiting to pick him off.

So John Kerry is a super-hero for serving in these waters. And what about the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth -- many of whom spent even more time on this mission? Are they heroes who deserve to be heard? I guess not -- the article doesn't talk about them.

Just to clarify my own feelings, I have the utmost respect for ALL veterans (even Kerry -- whose service in Vietnam may be one of the few things he's done in his life that I really admire). I'm sick of the MSM who try to tell us which veterans to respect (libs) and which to ignore (everyone else).

kerry has admitted he joined the swift boats because at the time they were patrolling the safer coastal waters. Only after he volunteered to go on a swift boat did their mission change.

After that, it was three purple hearts and out for kerry.

Although Sinh had never heard of Kerry, he has a strong opinion about the debate surrounding the candidate's Vietnam War record as a U.S. Navy Swift boat commander: Kerry must have had guts to troll the Mekong Delta's spider web of rivers and narrow canals knowing that Viet Cong like himself were waiting to pick him off.

``Kerry served in Vietnam and he was awarded the medal for his bravery,'' Sinh said. ``He deserves the medal.''

Another example of the Viet Kong for Kerry. What a joke the AP is.

Hey, look, John Kerry gets the endorsement of a lifetime from the Viet Cong.

This has to be from the Onion!
Didn't a FReeper just recently conjecture that the next thing that would happen is the VC would be telling the world about Kerry's bravery.
Most VC were exterminated after the fall of Saigon. They were considered too dangerous to keep around.
But then I have no problem with an ex-VC calling me a hero for traveling the rivers there. It's better than what Kerry called me in 71.

My thoughts exactly. Does Kerry really want anything good said about him by a former VC?

Yeah, that's a great point. One commie's opinion means more to them than hundreds of American veterans.

Several Points that should be made about this:

A) THE MSM claims that the Swift Vets have no credibility....but the VC do?

B) The VC was not in the same boat.

C) Has anybody else noticed that it is America's enemies...i.e. Communists, despots, terror supporting groups, etc. that come out in defense of Kerry...

A joke? Funny. This must be the Vietnamese govt.'s view, well prepped with Communist "minders" making sure that nothing goes off-the track.

``He knew the suffering and how much misery it brought to the people of Vietnam -- he knew the cruelty of war,'' Sinh said. ``So, I don't think he would go to war again if he's elected.''

Yup, let's elect Kerry as our wartime president ... NOT! ... especially if he's regarded sympathetically by a communist former VC.

Sinh is Vietnamese for "Greg Packer," all-purpose news media "man on the street/canal."

Alternate headline, "Kerry wins endorsement of the Viet Cong"

Yeah, I think your headline is the most descriptive.

Actually I doubt they left the office, nor did the AP.
Read the opening - ON THE BAY HAP RIVER, Vietnam (AP)
If they were in Vietnam they would know the place is called Song Bai Hap.

About zero. It's either fictional, or a Vietnamese govt. operation. Maybe a cooperative effort.

The way they spin the story to attempt to validate parts of Kerry's mythical history is incredulous.
