I am really going far out on limb and will predict that the day after the election the only states found with voting problems will those that Bush won.
To: snopercod

No, it's PERFECT. Now the observers can be discredited (as if they needed to be) because THEY'RE LED BY A MEMBER OF THE OPPOSITION PARTY. Whatever they say is immediately discreditable as the 'impartial observer' tries to THROW IT TO HIS OWN PARTY.

I live in Florida, and if it would shut Corrine Brown up, I'd pay 25 mil( of taxpayers money) to do it.

If the libs would do their job there wouldn't be a problem. It's always the Democratic areas run by Democrats that have all the problems. Wonder if that's intentional????

Alcee Hastings, "champion of the downtrodded."

I am disgusted that Bush even caved in to the democrats request to have our election monitored. We are not a bannana republic. It is insulting for them to have even asked for it & worse that Bush agreed to it.

I have to agree. What was President Bush thinking?
Can you picture Ronald Reagan doing something like this?
Yeah, me either.

If it put an end to Wisconsin college students voting Dem 150 times, or actually closed the polls in North Saint Louis on time, or kept the dead in their graves in Chicago, or kept 60,000 New Yorkers with winter homes in Fla. from voting in Fla., or several hundred other Dem. scams I would actually be FOR this. But as usual, the fix is in and none of these scams will be monitored. It will only be 72 year old black ladies in wheelchairs that these folks will be concerned about and it will be front page on the NYSlimes.

foreign election observers or stand for their liberty by saying no
If there's nothing wrong with our election process, why would I object to someone watching? God knows we send observers at the drop of a hat ourselves. My liberty is no more at stake here than by having foreign military observers do joint ops with American troops.

Are you being sarcastic? If not, my response to you is:
You DumbAss, you SOOOO Do Not Get It!
The basic rule is: If you see a Blue Helmet at the polls -- Shoot a hole the size of Texas right through it. A bloody, dead as a door nail hole so big there'll be no hanging chad, ergh, brains. A clean hole with nothing but a nice whistlin breeze a blowin through.

If there's nothing wrong with our election process, why would I object to someone watching?Any American has that right. You can walk down to your board of elections right now and sign up to be a poll observer.
But foreigners have no right to join in the conduct of our elections here in the U.S.. Those are run by the states, and the U.S. constitution specifically prohibits any state from making an alliance with a foreign power.
It's a given that the OSCE will find "irregularities" in the 2004 elections. What then? Should we grant unelected, non-citizen, foreign "observers" the right to veto our constitutional processes for electing our representatives?
On what basis and under what law?

I believe I read an article earlier similar about this issue. I was suprised not too many comments.
Yes we are a third world country. California has imported half of their population from the third world. Article in L.A. Daily News, Thursday, one in three children living in poverty. Broken marriages, and third world unskilled workers make this up.
It is what we have become, I am sorry to say.
