Thune...could do like one of the Republican Candidates did in Massachusetts....when the Democratic Senator would not debate him,he put up a cardboard cut out of the candidate and went on with the Debate.
Yes it seems we have a chicken ducking a debate.
"...Thune campaign manager Dick Wadhams..."
He should have said: "Your boss is such a coward that the best he could do is send some dickwad from his staff!"
Actually, I think you are incorrect. I believe the majority of Americans truly appreciated Cheney's remark in the senate, moreso given the target of the remark!
Given the circumstances, I thought Cheney was downright eloquent.
Passing thoughts:
1) Act grown-up in front of the cameras, dude.
2) This is probably the only way the Thune campaign could get the media to notice that Tiny Tom didn't show up, so maybe it is a decent strategy
3) of course, he's absolutely right.
4) how dare the Daschle campaign send a cameraman? How dare they? Not only do they skip out on the event to avoid stating their own views, but they decide to use footage from it to attack Thune in the future. That really is chickens***.
Thune should say, "I do apologize that my aide used an obscenity. That was unseemly, and does not contribute to the public discourse. He should simply have stated that Senator Daschle was behaving like a chicken, a spineless, simpering, whimpering, craven coward, a frightened little girl -- and left it at that. Thank you."
Dan
Chicken Daschle is running scared....baaaaaaawk...bawkkkkk...bawk...chicken!
Daschle is a (_0_), not a (_._)
By the way..I just found this new picture of the Democrats in Boston at the DNC...Daschle is somewhere in the crowd.
Cheny's obscenity was a private comment, between two people, that happened to take place in the Senate. Many private conversations take place on the Senate floor, you can see that by watching C-SPAN2. Further, the time of the incident, the Senate was not in session, but had gathered for a "class photo." Cheny's comment was overheard by others (tattletale Senators, no doubt), and gleefully reported and discussed in an effort to damage Cheny.
That the American people don't "get it" (the context of Cheny's remark) is a testimony to their laziness, or stupidity.
You mean...Daschle is acting like a "girlie man"?
I looked up the military definition of chickens#!t by historian Paul Fussell that Stephen Ambrose used in "Band of Brothers" and Citizen Soldiers".
"Chickens#!t refers to behahior that makes military life worse than it need be: petty harassment of the weak by the strong; open scrimmage for power and authority and prestige; sadism thinly disguised as necessary discipline; a constant 'paying off old scores'; and insistence on the letter rather than the spirit of ordinances. Chickens#!t is so-called-instead of horse or bull or elephant s#!t-because it is small minded and ignoble and takes the trivial seriously"
Applying the above definition, Daschele may be chicken for not debating, but I don't think he is being chickens#!t. However, if you substitute "South Dakota" or "senate" for "military", then it is clear the definition does fit in many areas.
Men, if you don't mind, school me here. What are the chances of "Dasshole" getting canned by the voters?
Since when? It's the other national pastime.
More chicken sh1t !!!
Tom Daschle: "I'm saddaned, saddaned that John Thune is my rival."
I think if I was in Mr. Wadhams' position I would have kept the barnyard epithet to myself and gone for one more feline.
