Methinks the only reason this event is allowed to continue is because it is an Indian thing.

If it was a bunch of white cowboys doing it, the whole liberal side of the country would have been up in arms.

"Each of these horses was loved and cared for by their families and will be sorely missed,"

I sincerely doubt that! IF they REALLY loved their horses, they would NEVER subject them to an event that is known to kill so many horses! They have a responsibility to protect them from harm. It's inexcusable. They should be punished for cruelty to animals, at the very least!

I happen to like rodeo. Bull riding, bronc riding, steer wrestling, stuff like that. I grew up around it, and announced rodeos around Texas for seven years in the 90s.

Me too! I used to run the barrels in rodeos and was rodeo queen of a PRCA rodeo in NM. We ALWAYS took care of our horses. They were treated good, in fact, my horses were SPOILED! LOL!

All righty, you're going to have to explain that one.

It's a kind of auto race half a step up from demolition derbies. The cars race on an 8 shaped track.

Ah, diversity, the joy of indigent cultures mixed yet undiluted in harmonious conjunction.

I'm just surprised they didn't show this at the Democrat
convention.

But some are trained to fear their rider --- same difference in the end though --- these horses are being abused.

"The race is part of a whole cultural event.."

Oh????

Sort of like dog fighting and bullfighting and bear-baiting?

I have no probelm with hunting, I hunt. But this sounds really sick ans stupid and should be stopped.

And to think they have it in liberal, pro-Kerry Washington State. Enigmatic place.
