This isn't a case of mistaken navigation, although as a Swift boat commander that would have been a mast offense itself had it really resulted in the inadvertent crossing of an international border - commanders of naval units are supposed to know where they are, you know, it's considered a kind of important part of the job. But this wasn't that. This was a deliberate false accusation in an attempt to smear a man who wasn't yet president at the time, at a later time when the omission wouldn't be noticed - as it was not.
This isn't a fond war memory gone wrong. It's a politically motivated lie that was found out.

Start and end with the invocation of the name "Nixon."
The timing is prior to the beginning of Nixon's presidency. A lie. Not in any manner or on any basis debatable. If J F'ing Kerry did not know he was lying at the time he told this whopper of a story [giving him the benefit of the doubt as merely delusional] ... by the time he had repeated it a few times he knew better and still continued to repeat what he knew by then to be a falsehood.
BTW, if there are any women out there that can explain the appeal of this "gentleman" please let me know. If I get truly desparate whatever ploy this wanker is using might prove useful :<)

The Dem mouthpiece is spinning the same story on Scarborough country. The river was 60 miles long and how could you be sure if you were in Cambodia or not, blah blah.

I say he lied to cover his own deeds and said everyone was doing it to cover his own arse. I have yet to hear of anyone else testifying to Congress then saying the same things that Kerry did....

If Vietnam is to be the demonstration of your leadership, then you damn well better not be 'leading' your crew accidentally into a noncombatant nation. Anyway, he claimed he was there on purpose, otherwise he couldn't slam Nixon's 'secret war'

When this story first popped up a day or two ago, I read somewhere (probably on the FreeRepublic) that several boats had inadvertently strayed into Cambodia earlier. To prevent a recurrence, several boats were posted at the border, and concrete pilings were driven into the river bed.
Therefore, Kerry could not have been in Cambodia as a result of a navigational error.
The only alternative to rescue this story is to be on a secret mission with the CIA (yeah, the CIA, that's the ticket - the yahoos will fall for that one!)

IMHO, I want to hear it from KERRY HIMSELF, not some dem operative reading off some faxed talking points.Along with his "180", THAT would ALSO "splain" a lot.
I like it when he does the 360s on the war. I support it, I don't support it, I support it. Just imajine him doing a pireout (SP) Spinning around endlessly>

Personality Separation Disorder. He actually believes these events happened.Interesting you should say that. This morning I watched the original May 4th Swift Vets press conference. One of the Vets said almost that exact thing about Kerry... "personality disorder, dangerous, unfit..."
I urge anyone who hasn't watched, to take 1 hour, 20 minutes and watch the whole thing. Simply amazing.
