If it wasn't for that little "pro-slaughtering unborn children" thing, he would be great on the national ticket... Yeah, that and his penchant for gun-grabbing.
To me, the 2nd Amendment is "issue #1".

Rudy is a GEM! Can't wait to hear him speak at the RNC convention! You must think that it will be televised. Don't count on it. The RNC will be covered about as much as a championship chess match.

What are you talking about? Michael Moore said the media is totally pro-Bush...
To: truthandlife
Very good. I noticed the GW Bush campaign is not letting Bush say anything about Kerry. He is siking Cheney and Guiliani on him. Good strategy. I don't think it is the GW Bush Campaign, I think it is GW HIMSELF. We have such a INTELLIGENT PREZ!!! GO GEORGE BUSH/DICK CHENEY!!!!!!!!!!!!

No one is perfect. We all contribute what we have and strength is in *numbers*. "Dissing" Rinos doesn't win friends or elections. (Zell Miller and Ed Koch are not even Republicans.)

Ah, the insanity from the left never ends.
Thank you Rudy, for all you have endured with such dignity.
You speak for all of the friends you lost on that terrible day.

The fact that he will be speaking at the RNC convention strengthens the pro-abortion cause. If Rudy's speach helps elect Republicans, then he's helping the anti-abortion cause. The Republican party is an anti-abortion party, and only parties can achieve any kind of political power to affect anything. Individuals, except for the President, are impotent without a political party to vote with them.
It's fine to push an issue, but when an individual issue threatens to sink the power of the party itself, then it must come second. Bush is anti-abortion, and says so, but he hasn't let that belief corner him into taking stands that will defeat the party or himself. Bush want's Rudy to speak at the convention, trust his wisdom.
Read Hugh Hewitt's new book for a chapter on this (forget name).

Abortion is the single most important public policy issue today, outweighing even terrorism. 1.5 million children are aborted annually. If Osama achieves his goal of destroying the west by destroying our economic systems, then what does a western politician's ideas about abortion matter one way or another. You'll be living under sharia law, if you're alive at all, and the anti-abortion argument will be mute.
