We have run Black Republicans against her several times.Blacks do not vote for Black Republicans in any higher % than they vote for white Republicans. So you can look for racist somewhere else.

Yeah, we have found that to be true in Mississippi too.

"Clarke County Commissioner John Barrow is well-funded and has the national 'Rat establishment behind him."
Yeah, but he's also a white liberal college-town city-slicker from the farthest corner of the district. I think that Barrow is the favorite right now to unseat Congressman Burns, since Barrow won the primary handily and since the district gave Bush only 44.1% of the vote in 2000, but I think that Burns could do well in rural areas and that black turnout could be down because Kerry will likely write off the state (although it remains to be seen what effect a Majette Senate candidacy will have). It's a shame that Herman Cain lost yesterday, because Burns would have benefitted from having Cain as the GOP Senate candidate; if Burns can get just 20% of the black vote, I don't think Barrow can beat him.

"Correct me , if i am Wrong, but doesn't she have to have 51 percent to be a clear winner?"
In order to avoid a run-off in a GA primary, one needs a simple majority, 50% plus one vote.

"Miller will support Johnny."
Miller won't support anyone, at least not publicly. He said several months ago that he would not endorse any candidate in the Senate race, and I doubt he'll change his mind now.
But I agree that Miller will probably vote for Isakson.

"Is Glenn a Reagan-Republican or an Isakson Republican?"
Dylan Glenn is a Reagan Republican who will make conservatives proud if he can defeat Westmoreland in the run-off and thus be guaranteed a seat in Congress.

"I'll see how insane the libertarian is, and if he's too insane I'll leave that space on the ballot blank."
In the unlikely event that it looks like the Senate race could be close, I would urge you to hold your nose and vote for Isakson. But if it is clear that Isakson will win handily and you want to make a statement, consider writing in Herman Cain instead of voting for the libertarian or leaving the ballot blank.

If it's close I imagine I'll vote for Isakson, but short of him getting caught molesting little girls I can't imagine it'll be close (but then he'd probably pick up some Dem votes and still win).

John Warner can hardly be called a loyal Republican after his treatment of Mike Farris and Ollie North. But he usually goes along with the party line
John Warner was also among the liberal Republicans who voted against the confirmation of Judge Bork for the Supreme Court in 1987. Maybe the popular "Liz" told him to "bork" Bork.

Any idea who Crotts and Mills will endorse?

No idea at all. Hopefully Crotts will endorse Glenn and that will put him over the top in the run-off.

You need 50%+1 to avoid a runoff. McKinney avoided a runoff by about 610 votes. The lack of cross-over votes this time let her stake in. It's a sad day in Georgia.
To: Redbob
It won't matter if a black Republican won. McKinney still will win in the general election. That district trends way too left the way it is comprised. There have been strong Pubbie challenges before (Mitnik), but jihad Cindy has won every single time.
There's no reason to think that the Pubbie who is running now isn't toast come November.
To: Meldrim
From his commercials, Glenn appears to be a Reagan/Bush Republican. He worked for President Bush.
We need more black Republicans in the House and Senate to show other African Americans that it's okay to be Republican and Conservative and that the Republicans are the real party that represents your values and doesn't give you lip service, such as passing over black Dem Congresscritters with more experience than Nancy Pelousy and naming her minority leader.
To: amordei
I think FR should be about ideas, not one-upmanship and putdowns. While close knowledge of a Senate race is useful, so are observations on the overall problems in the Republican party, such as I offered. Your comment is therefore beside the point.

No problem. In the heat of disappointment, we all have our little moments. Thanks for the note.

I think you are on to something, putting aside the hyperbole. Everybody is trying to get their coalition up to 50% plus one. With things so tight now, in so many places, the public square has become a very interesting place.

If you're going to comment on a local race, at least know what you're talking about. Simple as that.
BTW, if you take offense at "BS" (when your comment clearly deserved it), I can't believe you're still on this site.
As for "beside the point", pot meet kettle.
