in california, anywhere the public drives the police can go private property or not i get a lot of guests from other states that say the police can not follow them into parking lots?

Just tagging on here but for me the adjustment isn't the issue.

Here in the Texas summer heat, after walking 18 holes I'm sweating like a pig. Even if I towel off and change shirts it doesn't stop.

I've found the sweat salt on the belt eventually causes the "roll up" device to fail, no to mention the refreshing aroma it emits until it does fail. Having replaced a couple now I just do the lap belt when I'm in full sweat mode.

Thing is I always use a belt...by choice, I think they're a good thing for me, but sheesh, if a lap belt is okay for a 747.....

I hate that seat belt law, adults should be able to decide if they want to wear them.

That was the "convincing" argument and the promise when seat belts were being debated in the mid-50s...

You may wish to investigate the injuries called "hinge" or "jackknife" trauma.

Example: when you are a certain distance from the seat in front your upper body will be forced to fold at the waist which will cause your head to hit the back of the seat and snap to the rear. Permanent paralaysis if you live.

Without a lap belt your body slides to the floor between seats.

Bruises and lacerations, maybe a mild concussion, but survivable.

This is one reason the debate about seatbelts on School Buses is so intense.

Manufacturers are firmly against the concept because they know they will create a generation of paraplegics.

Not true. If she stood her ground, she'd be granted a court date, where a judge (not a police officer) would hear her case. The burden of proof would be on the state, and she would have the right to request a trial in which some number of her peers would render a verdict. If she lost she would have the opportunity to appeal.

I wear my seatbelt, always did before seatbelt laws...that does not make manditory seatbelt laws right! I also have medical insurance. Now, if you go back and read what I wrote to you previously you will see that you didn't get it.
